As I said before, my money is on AS keeping JFK open...just not with the Bus. Knowing the Bo's at Angle Lake, they'll return the Bus when the leases are up and replace them with 737s. They already have more n order than VX has airplanes.
Remember what it says on the nose of every AS jet in this SEA based company...Proudly all Boeing.
I think the VX presence in the east was one of the reasons they bought you.

Always depends but I know newhires from this year (Jan/Feb) holding a line in NY. I think you'll have to have a couple classes below you to hold a line. With the last class in June and unknown dates of future classes (should be in the fall) it's hard to say how long reserve might be.

For this interview group they stated if offered the job class wouldn't be until very late this year.
The status of JFK is REALLY unknown there, I asked many questions about the base. They have no intentions of growing it, its strictly a .117 base. Alaska management has expressed concern about why Virgin even has it.

Just interviewed, and according to the panel they were not even suppose to have this interview group. It came down from the top and it was a surprise to them as well.

That's interesting, competletly different concensus on the line regarding the JFK base, many seem to think AS would like to grow the base and with that it wouldn't make much sense to close it. Also I'm new here but I'm pretty sure our NY base has been around for way before FAR 117 so I'm not sure that's a valid statement. Either way good luck!

Your problem is going to be if AS decides to "grow" the NYC base using 737s and AS crews. While that doesn't make sense on first look, it might be a harbinger of what they have planned for VX in the long run.

So true. An AC shuffle will happen. Every scenario is possible. I could see them moving more E175s and 737s into SFO and maybe shrinking Airbus there. And potentially moving some up to SEA. I think it all comes down to $$. What routes are Airbuses most economical on. If it's a wash. Do they base it on passenger comfort. Who knows. But bottom line we all need to prepare ourselves for any scenario.
