But bottom line we all need to prepare ourselves for any scenario.
Let's be honest, if they based it only on pax comfort they'd make a smokin deal on A320's and scrap the whole 737 fleet.

This is why scope is so important. We need to limit the numbers of 175s. Grow the 737 or the Bus, swap routes or whatever but put a cap on the Rj fleet. I'm surprised Alaska pilots never felt the need to lock it down. They seem to be about 10 years behind the real legacies. As far as JFK, if AS wants to be a powerful player in the airline industry they should keep the east coast base and grow it.

Our MX types claim the 320 is $400/hour cheaper to operate than the 73.

Of course they do. It's called job justification. Again, just read the nose of AS airplanes..."Proudly All Boeing." Alaska is based in Seattle, not Toulouse.

Duh.

They're not talking about HQ. They're talking to the SEA community who have an overall fierce pride in the Boeing company. Not to mention the thousands of employees, dependents and friends who live in the Puget Sound.

Never mind that all those people look at the Airbus as the enemy.

As Boeing supported the DOT passing NAI and told its employees to shut up if they wanted to keep their jobs.

Boeing openly supports Norwegian Long Haul ? Aviation Gazette

And the Ex/Im bank which allows ME and overseas carriers to buy planes with US taxpayer subsidized loans cheaper than US airlines can.

At least someone can say "winning"
