Oldest picks 1st?

How long sitting reserve before you can hold a line at the various bases (Ballpark)

PDX is the senor base?

Any idea when the A320's will be assigned to new hires with AS/VX?

Same as anywhere else. I couldn't talk to SWA because every time the 430 microsecond registration window for their job fairs opened up I was in cruise flight. I'd get rid of a trip for an interview, but not to *try* to register for a job fair.

Ya I’ve been to several job fairs already...I really hope this turns out to be something worthwhile. Turns out I gave up at $25000 contract gig for this. I was supposed to be at PC12 sim that week. When I tried to get the sim week changed, he backed out of the whole deal, didn’t want to risk the training $ on me. It would have been really nice if they would have offered a choice of a couple different dates.

I got extended the 15 minute meet and greet for the 18th. Should I do interview prep at the local outfit?

I’d probably save your money and use a prep service before the interview. Meet and greet is just that. Dress sharp, have several copies of your resume and cover letter on good paper, be personable, address everyone in the room professionally, and be prepared to answer “why Alaska?”

Do that and you should be fine.

Of you have time, might as well. It's a good idea to do it before the interview, and it can't hurt for a meet n greet, which is a mini interview. Interview prep focuses on people, not technical, so definitely applicable to making a first impression.

Keep in mind these are the lowest regular lines, 12 days off and working weekends. More senior people bid open flying lines or reserve for better schedules.

PDX is VERY senior, been hearing its about 1.5-2 years to get.

Starting in mid January, indoc will be mixed AS and VX. Aircraft type and bases will be chosen in senority order. I've talked to a few guys who said they interviewed for Alaska a few months back but were told that if they get a class in January they could be assigned the airbus in JFK.
