Interesting...Im not sure why the just don't keep it open if they really want to hire 300+ pilots in the next year. Playing games with applicants will just reenforce their desire to work somewhere else.

From Alaska airlines pilot recruiting Facebook page “Need to add more hours to your resume? We've extended the Alaska Airlines First Officer posting to Sunday, July 11.

✈ Apply by 7:45 PM on July 11: https://bit.ly/asairfo
✈ Still building time? Join the community: https://bit.ly/alaskafocommunity

sure reads like a regional airline job posting. Very embarrassing. Advertising pilot jobs as a stepping stone now lol.

When I applied years ago to AS the recruiter called me and asked if I would be interested in Horizon. I politely declined.
maybe they are trying to get people to go to Horizon?

As always I think it’s best to just factually discuss our contract in various scenarios so applicants can see for themselves what it is like to work here.

There it is folks... If there's still anyone out there who knows we have ZERO scope, knows how terrible our schedules are, knows how stagnant or negative our mainline growth is and will continue to be, and is somehow STILL wondering whether or not Alaska can be considered a career airline... There's your answer, straight from the horse's mouth. This sh!thole has always been a stepping stone for anyone smart/well connected/driven enough to get out, but now it's officially categorized as such per none other than the company themselves.

Edit: I think this was all an overreaction - upon rereading this I take it to mean that if anyone needs to add more hours to/edit their app, they are still free to do so. Still wouldn't tell anyone to come here though

I read that as you need more time to add hours to your resume, make corrections, and apply.

Not as, “come to Alaska to build your flight time.”

Not even sure why they only opened the app for 7 days. The pilot call mentioned the app window would open on July 1 and stay open for two weeks.

You and I both know Alaska is all about these veiled messages with hidden sinister meanings.. regardless, the fact that they extended it shows their hand at the amount of applications they are receiving
