Is this voluntary or involuntary, eg can you hold PHX 757?

Some people do this sort of thing, but for me, there's no way. I'm at AA myself, and could've held MIA 767 International years ago, but there's no way I'm going to willingly commute for any airplane, seat, or city-pair trips. Being based where I live is priceless. I've spent years commuting - often cross-country - and it gets old fast. NO thank you. I'll stick to my narrow body airbus out of LAX thank you very much.

Not trying to start a war, I'm just genuinely curious to know what the AS and VX pilots think and how it might color your perspectives on the integration.
It makes complete sense. NOBODY else does transcons from the LA or SFO market to JFK in a 737 because passengers hate it, its noisy and uncomfortable. So because nobody else does it AS will. Nobody I have spoken to at VX is looking forward to leaving the Airbus.

No one at VX is going to have to leave the AB.

Tilden already said he would not be surprised if there were any Airbus at AK in 5 years (at an investor breakfast). United deferred 65 737-700s. Maybe AK picks those up and UAL gets those Airbus.

It would be ashamed to have to repaint all the AK 737s to remove the "Proudly all Boeing" from the planes.

One roll of white duct tape should be enough for the whole fleet. Just cover the word "all" for a few years.
I bet B & B are doing the economic justification paperwork as we wait!

There will be no new 737-700’s at Alaska. Anyone that knows anything knows that you can’t make money with it. The Airbus leave, some 737’s come. Fewer of course because they are bigger and retirement/attrition keep staffing at the proper level....all “long, thin route” flying will be handled by the EMB 195-E2 operated by our partners Skywest/Horizon. All the while we will continue to “grow”....
