Doesn't seem like there's much negotiating going on anyway. Unstacking is the line in the sand drawn by both sides. Nobody appears willing to budge. Not really sure what the path forward is.
Yet, after submitting their request for proffer to the NMB, EVERY SINGLE communication from the NC is about how important unstacking is. So what changed? The obvious answer is nothing, except the honest comms from the NC. Like Tom said… we’re not getting released. This is just another stunt to drag this on and move the goal post so this drags on until there’s some sort of leverage. The NC isn’t in control, we have a very weak chairman that needs to be told what to do; that is obvious. All we are seeing, is a Hail Mary attempt. Trying to get something to stick bc the NC wants their own golden nuggets that THEY THINK we will be grateful. All that appears to be on display is a desperate attempt by a very weak person to hold on to power and his job. By taking the same play by play strategy as AR. Bet everything on black and hope to deliver a rolls Royce contract even if it’s short lived, to secure a position on the IBT. Not to mention this is personal for GU bc he got sent to pound sand when he applied for Chief Pilot position at Allegiant apparently. So that’s something that brings up to question, the same guy that hates this management and appears to have a vendetta, applied to be management. This is the same person that is now putting everything on the line in the name of “industry standard” contract, when obviously, it’s about him and the mandate of O’Brien to make the IBTs airline division some sort of gold standard to compete. |

My question is: what happens if we don't released?

GU doesn’t care. We’ll do elections in 6 weeks or so and GU leaves and it’s the new E-Board’s problem then.

GU is not going anywhere. It’s personal for him and he’s not gonna let go of power. |

So even after elections, that tyrant will be there interjecting and sticking his nose where it does not belong. That fact that he has decided to now dictate and take over negotiations is problematic. This is the same dipstick that did the last ones. Now he’s trying to prove that he’s not incompetent? Make taking the most idiotic decisions? lol. It’s pretty laughable to be honest. Mr. U has said publicly that we don’t have a local, that HE IS THE LOCAL. How bout them apples? |

GU is not gonna just walk away. He’s already manipulating the bylaws to make sure that he maintains control over our local. He’ll tell us that it’s for own good, so another AR doesn’t come along and create a kingdom.

I appreciate both replies. If I understand things correctly then, GU could prevent the new e-board from agreeing on a new contract?

Our local will be little more than a puppet regime - of course if we reject the bylaws expect another long delay getting them rewritten. We need to go full speed ahead on the ALPA drive - send in your cards. No negotiations anyway for several months thanks to the Teamsters so make use of this lull....
