It's 3.5 extra to sit the 10 hour TOA. This is different from the trip footprint. Up to you but as a reminder this is not in the work rules.

Correct. When you are pulled for training, you have three options: 1) sit the original footprint of your trip for PPSK (PWR pg 39), 2) agree to sit a 10 hr TOA for PPSK of your original trip plus 3.5 ABG or 3) decline the footprint and get the day off, but forfeit the pay protection.

If you sit footprint, any trip they assign you must conclude within the original footprint or you don't have to do it. The TOA option, while paying an extra 3.5 ABG, now subjects you to up to a full 16 hour reserve day and all the abuse that can (and does) come along with it.

I always decline the footprint. The sanity gained by not being on call here is worth the loss of a few hours pay to me. YMMV.

Interesting. I rarely get my trips pulled so I was not familiar with this back door deal they're offering people. So, what if you accept TOA and fly more than 3.5 hrs after your original trip would have ended? Do they pay you more than 3.5? These are the types of things that need to be written in a contract.

What is this big announcement we are supposed to get this week or next? Has anyone heard anything? Any rumors or speculations?

The winner of the car/truck/vacation for all those who didn't call in sick for November and December?

The big announcement is that pilots still fall for the "big announcement".

Hence the "Free Beer Tomorrow!" sign that is permanently hung outside of headquarters.

Did I hear MG correctly; the mediator is saying we're at least 18mos from being released?

With all that said I keep hearing guys and gals say I'm waiting to see what the contract looks like before I put my résumé out. With the permanent "free beer tomorrow sign" how many people are now putting their stuff out?
