Based on the past few seniority list updates we lost 15 pilots out something like 537 the last 4 months. 3%? That is like Delta losing 372 guys in 4 months and none of those being due to retirements.

That seems really low. I would have guessed more would be moving to the legacies.

Since the November seniority list there have been 27 people who have left or been fired. At this rate we are on schedule to lose around 10% of the pilot group per year. Even with the May new hire class, there are now less people on property than there was on the November seniority list.

I am sure there are quite a few trying, as much as everyone talks about the "pilot shortage" and that everyone is hiring, it's not actually that easy to get hired. I threw my resume out everywhere, spirit was the one that called so I went (and I didn't even have the 320 type just the 757 type). I am guessing a lot of people would move on to the legacies if they could.

Allegiant Air pilots union...Posted June 8, 2015 - 11:29amAppeals court reverses lower court on Allegiant pilot rules
By SEAN WHALEY
LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL
CARSON CITY — The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday reversed a lower court ruling that had prevented Allegiant Air from changing its pilot work rules.
The reversal is a blow to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 1224, which had sought to stop Allegiant from making any work rule changes until a new contract is negotiated.
The Teamsters had argued that its predecessor organization, the Allegiant Air Pilots Advocacy Group, was a labor representative under the Railway Labor Act. The Teamsters argued that the pilot work rules negotiated by the predecessor organization were a collective bargaining agreement and that a federal judge in Las Vegas properly prevented Allegiant from altering the agreement until a mandated mediation process is completed.
Allegiant argued the group was merely an informational employee advocacy group.
In a decision written by Judge Stephen Murphy, a three-judge panel found that the pilot advocacy group was not a labor representative under the Railway Labor Act because it never sought to be recognized by Allegiant as the pilots bargaining agent.
The appeals court returned the case to Las Vegas federal court to permit the Teamsters and Allegiant to continue negotiating a collective bargaining agreement.
