I've learned a little more about the RLA from this. G4 pilots were free to strike because the company violated the status quo provisions of the RLA. When they changed your workrules unilaterally they became liable to self help from the pilots. No release from the NMB was needed. I had never heard of that provision of the RLA before, I guess because no company is usually that stupid.

I understand the judge that issued the injunction against the strike was just sitting in for the previous judge that had jurisdiction in the initial litigation in this case. And this injunction is temporary until the original judge gets back on the 10th. I can't believe he will be pleased with the company violating his previous order. I would expect you guys would be released to self help.

In all these cases it comes down to the company choosing to take a foolish stand to try to save a dollar. It will end up costing them more to try and bust the union than they would make if they just negotiated in good faith.

It is really sad you guys had to go through this to defend yourself, but I think this was long overdue, all I have been reading on this thread was horrible.

You have our supports and we are all counting on you.

 

Your support is much appreciated. To my knowledge, there is no official strike fund set up as we have been instructing pilots for well over a year to save their money for this. The new hires were warned ad nauseam beforehand that this was going to happen, so hopefully they have some cash saved up. If the strike lasts for an extended period of time (unlikely), then a strike fund will be much appreciated. One thing is for certain: we will not stop fighting. Thanks again!

Thanks for your support! As CLMP has said, our outstanding union spc has over prepared us. Personally I can out last this company to its extinction and beyond. New hires stuck out on the homeless base(s); guys/gals we warned you and we warned you, not to come here.

A better assistance might be your union helping us with our company’s propaganda campaign, which is on par with the crap that comes out of Tehran.

A good outcome would be a cleaning of the house so to speak, by the board. Such an occurrence could very well be accomplished by a near annihilation of the stock.

 

I think I can speak for most Allegiant pilots when I say, the outpouring of support from pilots throughout the industry has been very humbling!! Thank you guys so much!!! We have quite a fight on our hands and we will see this thing through!!

 

Yes, it's inspiring to know that we are fighting everybody's fight. The task at hand is clearly bigger than us. Let's get this company straightened out for the sake of all pilots everywhere. Thanks to all of you sisters-and-brothers-from-other-mothers for your support.
