Allegiant Air

There's also a new 'car option' that pays you only 1/4 the hotel rate when you exercise the 'hotel option,' yet still need a rental car. Seems kind of stupid since you'd already be getting a rental car at the hotel. You have to share rental cars between 2 people, though, if the hotel provides regular airport shuttle service. Thing is, you're offering to SAVE the Co money by staying off-site, & they penalize you for using a rental car you're still afforded anyway! The sharing can be a PITA, too, since VBD-based pilots on the -80 are likely off the same time during the 'Allegiant Weekend,' Tu-We, Sa!! All that on top of the measly buck an hour perdiem :0

Changes include that the "Hotel Option" is now taxed as 'imputed income.' When staying at other than the crew hotel, you can get paid 1/2 the hotel rate. Used to be, you just submitted a claim on the Company's expense reimbursement system & got paid. Now, they add it as a line-item on your 15th 'clean-up' paycheck and Barry takes his cut. I think the 'home based' cargo guys have to deal with this, too, during their Gateway travel. I heard they're trying to lobby to get this removed from the IRS code.

Sometimes the best time to "invest" is when there is blood in the streets. I personally think that this company has great potential or I would be trying to move on.

There are a lot of junkies who have great potential as well, but they choose the easy road and constantly look for the cheap and quick high. There wasn't a memo about this, but the company has just hired a new Director of Labor Relations. Where did he spend the majority of his career? None other than NWA. See the problem?

Got scheduled for a phone interview two weeks ago. The assistant chief pilot set up a time . I had to postpone some vacation plans for this. I never got called back at the set time. Is this normal ?

Since you have a job currently that offers you vacation time and money, why walk into a company like ALG? If they get the contract and respect they deserve then quit UAL and join ALG, but until then, I'd stay put and wait for better.

Same thing for me. I had heard about it so I was just hanging out for about 3 hours and gave up. I emailed the HR rep that sent me the invite and rescheduled. They rescheduled and actually called a few min early the next time.
