Mav says that safety is our #1 priority, so all of these media reports are obviously wrong.

I'm not saying this is a reason to work there but I have a good friend recently hired at big D and she says 2 in her class were G4.

I heard of one and have a name also to go with it, but of course I won't post on a public forum. PM if you want.
That said, I wouldn't doubt what the EngFail said, one person hardly moves the needle.

Even if they had a G4 blacklist, they'd hire one pilot occasionally to maintain plausible deniability.

No conspiracy, just this - The 3 legacies are still mainly hiring military or highly diversified/experienced civilian DO's, CP's, sim instructors etc. with thousands of 121 jet PIC. Not much interest in mere MD-80 captains. Alaska & Southwest seem a little more inclined to hire mere mortals, so far.

I have a phone interview coming up and was hoping you guys could help me out here. Currently a regional f/o commuting but live in Florida and was wondering what the most junior bases are and what a new hire could expect? I have read a lot of the forums and I understand you guys are displeased with management but I'm currently looking for something better than a regional. Thanks in advance.

Pay? Slightly.
Time at home? Maybe.
Work rules? Not a chance in hell.
Retirement? Bwahahahah!
But if you're still chomping at the bit, many newhires are going to the Airbus out in FL and IWA. However, it seems to vary per class. This last class was all Airbus and 757. The next one will be Airbus and MD80. You could get the Airbus right by your house or 757 HNL. It's a crapshoot.
BTW, the attitude here goes well beyond displeasure with management. There appears to be a seething hatred that is palpable. This only gets worse with each "ignore all the evidence, SAFETY is #1" emails from the Sr VP Ops. Interview at your own risk. Good luck.
