Go work for an actual airline, not a 'Travel company". JB, Virgin, Spirit. are all Airbus companies managed by airline professionals, not accountants, people who know the business and aren't at war with their employees. G4 is a get-rich scheme that's here to benefit only a select few at the cost and risk of everything. Most profitable "airline" because it won't invest in infrastructure or employees. $180 million was paid out to investors last year while refusing to invest in the operation or employees. The results are bad and getting much worse. You sound well qualified and there are plenty of jobs out there, choose carefully as it may be your last. Best of luck with your decision.

I would plan on the worst since you never know. Your reasons for fearing the 80 are probably misplaced because the transition from glass isn't that bad (it has a moving map). What you should fear about the 80 is the reliability and bargain basement maintenance done on them. As a new guy, you'll be the reserve guy picking up the pieces: rescue flights, test flights, re-positions, and so forth. Abusive and fatiguing, full of frustration and risk, it has driven many of our guys to leave G4. Google Allegiant news and realize they're only getting some of the incidents. When you're done, Google Valujet.

Yes by all means; decide which one of those other carriers works for you & call 'em up and put yourself in the next class....

Sarcasm aside, yes, I would advise to apply elsewhere and wait for a reputable airline to call. Obviously they're hiring because our guys have left to go work there. If senior people are leaving for the very same places this guy is qualified to work, what should that tell him?

Every situation is different but you've maybe got a guy in the right seat of a regional & you're telling him keep commuting to that EWR crashpad 6 leg days food stamp wages. I know this contradicts the party line on here but fact is you can come to Allegiant make choices to get off the bottom ASAP & have a superior QOL & paycheck while you wait for the call.
Which may or may not ever come.

Do yourself a favor, concentrate your efforts elsewhere. Ten plus year senior captains walking out the door to start over, should be your answer. How many captains from Spirit, with same relative seniority resign to go to SWA?

And speaking of ASAP, if you do decide to walk into this nightmare of an "operation", make sure you familiarize yourself with the ASAP program. You'll be using it.

You risk more with your career here. Airplanes that are literally falling apart, due to poor maintenance. How many air returns and emergency evac’s have Spirit and Atlas had in the last thirty days? Then you subject yourself to our ‘Safety Department’, a.k.a. put the blame as much as possible on the pilot, to alleviate all company liability as much as possible. Which is run by a former Mesa guy who like the rest of our management shake your hand and with other put a shiv in your back.
