A little birdie said I should visit this thread to clarify my training experience at G4.......
Not sure who G4er is but he must have an agenda and for some reason is spreading misinformation? I am the guy terminated during AB training last December and I have never seen such disorganization and disarray in a training department during my 20 years in this business. In short, I was scheduled for my last 2 sim sessions after a week off beginning at 6AM with a 5am report. I was literally in bed studying when I received an email from JDG about 6PM notifying me that my 6AM sim was now cxld and I will have my AB oral at noon instead?
WT EFF?
Chew on this tidbit as well...... During my days off prior to my last 2 sims, I went home and jump seated on 2 AB flights during that time to help focus on procedures as I was a little rusty having flown less than 100 hours in the last year. Well, midway during those days off, I received another email from JDG telling me to now expect my final 2 sims starting the next morning. I told JDG I had actually gone home and was jumps seating on a couple flights to help prepare for my final sims. His response was something like " OK, got it"
I got his meaning loud and clear when he changes my schedule less than 12 hours prior to a training event that was changed to a check event/oral.......... Real nice huh?
Talk about setting someone up to fail? I foolishly thought I could get it done even though I was unprepared for the oral as I had been focusing on sim training for the previous few weeks. I foolishly chose to take the oral with APD MB and I notified her of my concerns that I was not prepared with the sudden change of schedule for me. FWIW, MB said this event had been on her schedule for days?????????????She was very professional and could not have been nicer to me and said the decision to take the oral was completely up to me. I was very weak on systems and rightfully deserved a pink slip.
It was all downhill from there and the local IBT reps were helpful but took no further interest in this matter.
I have informed the Feds about my experience and it looks like from a technical standpoint, I may not have had the same access to training aids that we're available to subsequent AB classes. G4 has a history of training issues and If I can help bring some problems to light than I am happy to help.......
The accusations that I was "to cool for school" are a joke. I went to class and participated and got along with my class mates and instructors just fine....... Seeing all the bad press locally about all the flight cancellations and mechanical problems, especially here in the TPA area is shocking. I am working at another airline now and I have washed the G4 slime off of me. Good luck to all still there and if you are planning to go to G4, be prepared to say "how high?" when the crack training dept. says "Jump" TBF

Wow...22 AB CA Vacancies, including 11 in the new CVG base!! No love for ANY 80 bases
Guess NH's will fill the holes, but we're freaking short on 80 CAs!! Crank-up the training grinder!!
Ive flown with TPABayFlyer before & he is a professional Aviator. There were indeed AB training dept 'issues' & I think he got a raw deal! I'm glad he's otherwise employed now. Would've been a great fit at PIE!

It's only a matter of time before the NMB releases us.

If you get hired just complain enough about not getting what you want to management and you'll get it. Saw it happen a couple of time in my new hire class recently.

As a result, lots of unintended overnights as well throughout the system. Looks like most crews are holding the line on 117 extensions. Favors seem to go one way around here. Ohh, please, please can you extend.. Suk it..

Curious about upgrade time at Allegiant? APC says the most junior captain DOH was 2014. Is that true?
