Not trying to jump down your throat, but your statement about 'knowing how to bid' stood out to me...
I am familiar with "Isaac Excel". I am aware that Mr. Excel has the ability to manipulate the schedules after merlot runs through the bids. In my case..... the schedules are exactly the way I bid. I have not been a victim of Mr. Excel yet. I know there are numerous pilots that get their schedules manipulated but there are also a good amount of pilots who get a messed up schedule because they don't know how to operate merlot. That is all I was trying to say by that.

You are, somewhat, misinformed. Merlot does nothing with the schedule. Your preferences are saved in a form Excel can read, and then exported to Excel. Your schedule is built in Excel, and then loaded back in to Merlot.

At no time does Merlot do anything with your schedule, other than (supposedly) check it for legality.

So to recap...

Management told the judge during our injunction that the airline would shut down if we got rid of PBS... then tried to get a stop to our injunction after we won... and finally were forced to show us behind the curtain where they simply export our preferences to an Excel file... thereby committing perjury.

Did I miss anything?

It's still pbs whether it's through the spreadsheet or merlot. I have bid specific pairings every month since merlot started. I have received everything I have bid based on my seniority. I'm not arguing whether the company is playing dirty or not. I'm simply stating that it has worked for me and others. Most of the people who don't understand the bidding process are the ones who get messed up schedules.

That being said........ Everyone in the hearing who testified in front of the judge should be thrown in jail who said merlot was a requirement. I'm sure this will get real interesting very fast if indeed this is true.

Clipped, this is not true.

Just basing it on my aircraft in my domicile.... can't comment on others. Of course I don't know what is going on in every base. I guess it's just luck that my schedule has been exactly they way I bid for the last 9 months. I guess Isaac likes me.

If anyone of us did that in a formal hearing, we would be fired faster then you can say, F&H $ucks Donkey B@lls. Ethics, like everything else around here goes one-way.

I remember in the AF they'd do safety surveys now and again saying "where will the next Class A occur?" Based on reading this thread, I'd say Allegiant. Holy crap. Is this real? People actually choose to work here?

It's really not PBS because what you bid has nothing to do with what you receive. The person that builds the lines gives you whatever he wants to give you, regardless of seniority and what your preferences are.

If it's working out for you, that's good for you. The remaining 99% are usually getting screwed.
