$78.54 M (cash on hand 2015 Q3) is peanuts compared to other airline's quarterly profits and 50-some MD-80s worth no more than a few million per aircraft does not make Allegiant valuable. Don't forget, G4 doesn't own the Airbuses.

Also, comparing stock prices to that of other airlines doesn't mean a thing. The market capitalization is what matters, and while G4's is equal to Spirit and larger than Hawaiian or VA, it is half that of JetBlue and not even close to anyone else's.

Here, take a look. Scroll down to the "related companies" section.

I restate my stance that a merger is very unlikely...Unless someone gobbles up G4 and closes it down in order to eliminate some competition....something that any legacy could easily do.

Yawn... I love when pilots play MBA. It's a safe bet that you have no idea what you're talking about.

...and I love it when online tough guys claim others know nothing yet offer no evidence to back up their statement while speaking in insulting tones in order to mask their own lack of knowledge.

Regardless, this is mere multiplication and a little common sense...If you think that it's MBA stuff, I can't help you.

Well I guess you have it all figured out. What other earth shattering predictions do you have for us?

You really think that my belief that there is no merger ahead for Allegiant is an "earth shattering prediction?"

I think you'd better just stop.

Sqwkvfr is quite correct.. The stock price doesn't mean squat... It could be $1000.00 a share, but if there are only "X" amount of shares available then the company just isn't that valuable... ( not saying G4 isn't valuable,)...

I'd be more willing to bet whomever is bailing is doing so under increased scrutiny from somewhere ( FAA, BOD) or they found a better job at a better company.

G4 certainly isn't buying another carrier... No one out there fits G4's business model at all. G4 doesn't have any value in its fleet, gates certainly aren't valuable, and I don't think they are robbing the Majors of too many passengers, atleast not enough to facilitate a buyout just to get rid of competition.

I actually do have an MBA, but haven't used anything to do with it in a very long time.

Wait a minute.... you have an MBA yet you were comparing companies based on their stock share price alone, disregarding their market cap?

I'd ask for your money back.

Like I said, not something I've used or even looked at for years. I also have a political science degree and can't tell you anything about that. I just thought the MBA comment was funny.

G4 doesn't own the MD80's either. Check the plaque inside the cockpit door.
