Best of luck to you too, and please seek help for the anger, it's not healthy

If it is true (and that is a big IF) that there are a few people who actually have left JB for Allegiant, then it is only because they believe "it can't possibly be that bad!" and live in Florida and believe the "home every night" line. As for "plenty" disagreeing with me about Allegiant...again, it is only because they don't know how bad it is there, and may be disgruntled here for other reasons.

Unlike Allegiant, we here at JetBlue have REAL maintenance. Our company SPENDS money, much more than the bare minimum, on our maintenance and aircraft. Speaking personally, the atrocious maintenance practices which I saw first hand, were the primary factor in my looking to leave.

Training. I've been through MD80 "training" at Allegiant. Talk about a joke. I'm surprised that the FAA let you guys restart after it was SHUT DOWN.

And none of this even broaches the compensation and QOL issues. Yeah, no comparison there either.

You can spin it however you want. I hope for the sake of guys there that it does get better. But you seem to be living the life of a Maury Gallagher apologist. I feel sorry for you.
Are the Patriots going to win this weekend?

Allegiant is not nearly as bad as the folks in this board make it seem.

Anyone that comes from a regional knows that it's not even close to being as bad as the best regional out there. Can it be better? Of course! Are there Mx concerns? Absolutely, but to say that it's falling apart is simply not accurate. You do get to sleep in your own bed and have good qol if you live in the right base. If you plan on commuting, bad choice, go to JB or any other ULCC.

Maybe. Maybe not.
But the issues we have are far too amateur and easy to fix for the size of carrier we've become. This isn't some fly by night 135 operation that can barely make payroll.

I agree that there are issues, but the QOL that I have experienced here in the short time I been here is by far the best I have had in this industry. I do live in base and have not been tdy'd yet. Now the Mx concerns are real especially on the 80, and must be addressed before a catastrophe occurs. But I think if we stick together we can really turn this place into a good career destination.

Big part of your experience difference here is due to being on the Bus. Two different airlines for the most part from everyone I've talked to that has switched over.

ALGT management must love these posts! Management plan: like they did with the flight attendants, flood the ranks with happy new faces, fresh from regional treatment, home every night, big jets, then sprinkle a few bucks in there and those unsuspecting rookies will sign a contract that is as 'different' as Allegiant. For the sake of the profession, we are all counting on you guys to prove them wrong.

Awesome the QOL has worked out for you for the short time you've been there Skyrider, I hope that holds. Just realize many others aren't so lucky when the time comes to stick together.

PS. Presidents, SVPs, VPs and employees from every group leaving in droves, maintenance horror stories, unhappy pilots voting for a strike, stock down 40%, I don't work there, but from here it kinda looks like it is falling apart.

I do agree that not everyone here has had the positive experience I have had so far, which is why I pointed out some issues and stated that we all have to stick together. Most guys that I have met coming through training have been abused at the regionals for years, yet we have the utmost respect for the guys who have been here long and have no intention of lowering the standards. I was just stating the truth, we simply cannot ignore the fact that our life has improved substantially since leaving our last job. I do hope we can reach a fair deal that rewards the guys who have been here for years, and makes it a career destination for us newbies.

And please dawgdriver don't insult us by comparing us to the flight attendant situation, I see nothing but unity and solidarity among the pilot group, including the new hires.
