You will never upgrade in BLI but you might get it because the bottom 1 or 2 FO's are kind of a revolving door ('cause they know they'll never get off reserve let alone upgrade). If you already live there and don't mind permanent reserve it could work.

After attending tonight's pilot meeting, I will be voting 'no'.
In general, work rules are 20-30% less beneficial than Spirit and the pay will definitely be less than what Spirit will achieve. I am tired of being told that I am worth 20-30% less than a pilot at a similar carrier and realistically, we won't get another agreement for nine years.
Do you really want to live with these work rules for nine years (I'm looking at you, sick leave). Do you want to spend the better part of Hillary's second term making a full 30% less than your peers and 40% less than
I don't need an industry leading contract, but I certainly need to feel at least average.

Let's hope you are in the minority, cause after attending tonight's meeting I'm voting yes. I believe that it's a good contract and voting no will delay this for a while, you did see what they said about our mediator, did you not. What happens if the economic climate changes in the mean time? We are left holding the bag. There are definite improvements to work rules and substantial pay improvements, let Spirit get a better contract it will raise the bar for us in the future. Or maybe the economy falls apart and they have to settle for less than us,(hopefully not), the point is after listening to the presentation I'm convinced we need to vote yes. Let's not be greedy guys, let's take the opportunity to have a solid contract and build on it in the future.

Some people will never be happy... If you vote this contract down, especially as a captain, I think you're nuts. You'll easily be leaving +$250k on the table plus a month or two on strike, by the time another contract comes a long. If you think the company is going to give you 4 days off after every trip like Spirit or 15 days off like Southwest, you're wrong. It'll never happen. And if it did, it would make the entire business model fail. The TA has the highest pay of any LCC, job security, and decent work rules.

Delta Airlines has no prohibition on single days off, what this seems to guarantee is twice as good, but Delta trips are not all single days.
Hopefully we will get the contract today. Unless there is some huge surprise in it, I am a solid yes.

Didn't hear the union say work rules were 30% less than Spirit. Didn't hear any complaints to the union from a room full of pilots. Is it the Trip rig that would make you 30% more money? If you think so when time away from base is 1/4 of what a Spirit pilot flies, you need to brush up on math skills... Plus there is the min day guarantee that was discussed.
