Hello G4 guys/gals. Thinking of making the jump if this contract passes. I live 40 min from SFB. It is possible to get SFB as a newhire? Is it a very senior base in both seats? I'm a 9 year regional FO who is burned out from commuting and waiting for an upgrade. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

 

I also attended the union meeting last night. Look folks, the guys that have been working tirelessly for over 3 years are telling us that this is it. I didn't hear any reference to returning to the table and telling the company/mediator that we want more pay or better work rules. In fact, I did hear over & over to please look at the whole package and that each and every rep has done their best to seal a solid deal for the pilot group.

Also, they noted that our mediator is not impressed with our requests and is siding with the company - big time.

Here is what I took from the meeting: We have busted our asses and for the moment, the company wants this done. This is as good as it is going to get for our first Teamsters contract. It was also noted that it would be a long road with the possibility of getting even less if we go back to the drawing board.

I'll admit that there are work rules that I would like to see added. It's not perfect. Knowing the forces we're up against though, I'm siding with our union reps that have also signed our TA. They have my YES vote.

 

Let's also add the comment that DAL is about to start negotiating again after voting no last June. Anyone that thinks a no vote means another quick TA is fooling themselves.

 

The companies Jedi mind trick worked on someone I see. The have you convinced that the manner in which they sell their tickets should dictate the level of pay we are worth. It would seem you truly believe we are second tier pilots.

We are the most profitable airline in the country. We operate the same equipment as the legacies. The legacies margins pale in comparison to ours. Any you want less money than a legacy pilot? You must be insane.

Envoy voted no to their first post AA/USAir merger TA, worst decision we ever made as a pilot group. I would say 90% of the no voters, with hindsight, would now go back and vote yes. After we voted no, AAG decimated our airline and brought us to our knees until we said yes to a second TA. At that point we took something that was FAR less in both money and work rules than the first TA we said no to, and we did so just to keep our doors open. No votes in situations like that don't "show" the company anything. Life will go on for you guys either way, just with a lot less money in your pockets over the next 2 or 3 years before the company is willing to play ball again. The game is rigged, always in favor of the corporation. The NMB will favor management. The RLA will always favor the corporation and upper management. The best way you can give the finger to these greedy slum lords is to leave. Buy why you are waiting to find a greener pasture, vote yes and make a lot more money why you are waiting for that phone call.

 

We are not a regional. We are not at the mercy of a crap RFP from American. Delta recently voted "NO" too.

 

You aren't a legacy either. However, Allegiant pilots aren't getting paid even half of what they deserve. IMHO this TA is at least moving in the right direction. And while the Envoy situation had many differences there are also a few big similarities. All I am saying is, beating your chest with pride as you loudly vote "No" will only deplete your pocket book by at least 40% over the next 2 years. But feel free to "show them!"

 

I don't have lowered expectations. I have realistic expectations. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to discern from your historical posting what type of person you are and that nothing would make you happy.

 

This is a ludicrous comparison....by way of counterpoint, one could point out Republic's no vote as an example of stand that actually worked....if that were a legitimate comparison to our situation.

On another point; you're not the first non-Allegiant person to chime in so I'm not directing this only at you, but I can not be the only G4 pilot who gives exactly zero fuqs about the opinions of people with no skin in the game. Helpful suggestions are always appreciated, but condescending posts intended to "educate" us are not welcome.
