More than 10% of the group on TDY. The IWA base has born the brunt of it. A few of the the pilots in IWA have been on TDY upwards of 8-10 months in the past 12. BLI and LAS to a lesser extent have seen pilots shipped east as well. Apparently a new norm is seasonal base openings. This summer Myrtle Beach and LAX will be opened from around May 1 till the first week of Sept. LAX will be once again staffed by IWA and maybe LAS from what hearing and MYR will be all bases allowed to volunteer and then JA to the FL bases if not enough elect to do it. So FL will get tagged with this one as well. The 757 guys have also experienced LAS to HNL TDY and vice versa. This month 1 757 crew is TDYd to BLI. So it's been all over the place.

Sorry to get off the TA discussion but... I've read a lot of the thread and am wondering if this tdy is still the normal or has it become a rarity ? Thanks everyone and wish you the best of luck with your heavy decision

July and August TDYs were covered by VBD and voluntary TDY.

CHEP results are interesting...finding picayune nonsense and missing the stuff like when MX tries to defer the windshear system when it actually worked correctly, or the brake temp sensor when it's obviously working. Lots of holes in the training dept, yet Bob the Pedo ran off most of the people trying to improve the place.

Unfortunately, those issues you mention are MX controllers being MX controllers. I've had that same issue at many different airlines; one of which had over 200 airplanes so not such a small operator.

Systems knowledge and a strong backbone will keep these issues from becoming a problem. Annoying for sure... but not a problem.

Are MX controllers actually A&P/AMT's or just a secretary with a computer program to look up codes?

It really is great to see Jude Bricker striving so hard to make Allegiant better. Allegiant could really be a great airline and he appears to be shooting for that.
His public commentary about embracing audit results and implementing change are a far cry from last year's PR dumpster fire that included such hits as;
-hot temperatures and a busy schedule
-our pilots aren't negotiating fairly and sabotaging the operation
-all airlines have these problems, there's nothing to see here
-Maury's letter to the editor blathering about all of the above

They're the mechanics who couldn't cut it on the line. Occasionally you'll get a top notch controller who knows the airplane, but more often than not they're idiots who just want to defer and get you moving.

How do all the G4 bases stack up when compared by size and how do they compare when it comes to seniority?
