1. New contract matching SWA, top to bottom with better 401K contributions.

2. All 75's and 80's to be phased out for slightly used 320's, making an all 320 fleet within 2 years.

3. Working with union to ensure top notch MX and safety concerns are rectified through a thorough commitment to training, safety, and mx insourcing.

Oh what.... wake up?

Probably not. The low frequency operations don't match up with what any other airline does, the stock price is too high for anyone to be able to afford the company for what they would get, and, finally, who wants a bunch of old beat up MD-80's?

Plus, most other companies would take a look at the training department and the maintenance records and run like hell.

The only possibility would be Allegiant buying someone, and I personally don't think that's very likely.

My guess is 1, MAYBE 2 of the announcements are pilot centric. The others will be just general company fluff.

I'd imagine one announcement is the closing of HNL and the 757s going away.

Anyone care to guess how the class of 40 for December 1st will be split up for airplane and bases?

During the interview back in October, it was said there was 16 airbus on the property and that by the end of first quarter 2016, there would be 25.

I don't know for sure, but they opened LAX in the Airbus with 10 CA's and 10 FO's, and opened the VBD base for the Airbus. With the bidding announcement we were told all equipment locks will be dropped for this bid, which probably means many will bail out of the 80 and use this opportunity to get on the Airbus. My guess is that will leave many openings on the 80 which will go to new hires. The results of this bid won't be released til early December, so its anyones guess what will happen until then.

I also agree with VegasPilot that one of the announcements will be the closing of HNL. A quick look at the last bid preferences showed that most of those guys want the Airbus. Not sure how they will integrate those guys into other bases (bump and flush displacement or only where there are openings displacement) but they will take any Airbus openings that are available. That also means the 80 is more likely for new hires.

I'd expect LAX to go pretty junior for FO's - probably be a few spots for new-hires.

1. Closing of HNL (already a JB video on Youtube)

2. Allowing PED's with the door closed.

3(a). Retirement of 757's by end of 2017
or
3(b). Huge stock buy back to reinflate stock price.

Per letter they posted with the LAX/VBD bid, it's only MD80 CA seat locks being removed for this bid.

Upon closer look you are right, it is just for md80 CA locks. My fault, I should look closer before I post!
