Some other agencies that don't make a profit:
ICE, FBI, VA, USAF, CDC, NIH, USN, U.S. Senate, U.S. Congress, POTUS, etc. etc. Like Malaria spent $600,000 over 2 months going to NYC for hair appointments... An apt auto correct! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Would you please show me a map of the places in rural America that FedEx and UPS don't deliver to?
If somebody wants to send a bill or a legal document to farmer John they can pay $5 to do it. The clowns sending junk mail for $.05/piece can get bent. The military is part of the government; the USPS despite having United States in the name is not part of the government neither is FEDERAL express or the FEDERAL reserve. Hence they need to make profits or eventually go out of business. |

No where except the secret is in many rural areas and even populated areas it’s not uncommon for UPS and Fedex to have the postal service do their last mile.

Even home of the Brinkman Ranch of 5,500 acres, where first year’s opening of the TV show “Dallas” was shot. I wave at J. R. Ewing, as I drive by. J. R. was patterned after H. L. Hunt. His son and daughter in law, Lamar and Norma Hunt, have a middle school named after them. |

...wonder if you’re referring to UPS SurePost or FedEx SmartPost. Both use Postal for the last mile and both are shipper’s choice.

It could be replaced by FDX, UPS, etc. Or at least have to compete with them. No reason USPS should have a government monopoly in the modern era.

USPS union has 200k+ members and is affiliated with AFL-CIO, as is ALPA
