I don’t understand why we can’t even know how many people even bid for mitigation options

That is because the company and the union have to fudge the numbers so BOTH look good coming out of this mess.

Well, it’s out. and it’s grim. But, APA did manage to hold the numbers to what DP said in CN. 1600 pilots. and 8100 fas. that goes back to DOH 2012 for the stews. pilots not sure what the plug will be.

I think everyone would benefit from taking a step back for a couple days. We don’t know what management is thinking. We don’t know what APA is thinking as NDAs have been signed. We don’t know if there will be furloughs. We don’t know if these LOAs saved any jobs or killed any jobs — that leaves us knowing, well, pretty much nothing.

I am neither defending nor denouncing the actions of the union or the company. I will know enough to do so probably by tomorrow or the next day. At that point I will pass judgement, but not before then.

We should exercise some sound judgement and not publicly castigate the union we are members of, letting the company know how divided some of you are before the die is even cast. Many questions will be answered in the next 24-48 hours. Trust me, you can wait.

Please allow me to be the first to say, WTF APA

We were overstaffed by 1600 according to company predictions. We bid for reduced schedules etc to mitigate furloughs.
We furlough 1600 anyway. Seriously, every single member of the BOD needs to be sent packing.

1600 pilots. It’s official. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for Cares II.

that overstuffing was based on numbers from what March or April? The recovery hasn’t happened since then and they were counting on it. To use numbers quoted back then wouldn’t be fair to the pilot group or even the company.

So it's a pure coincidence huh? The company said they would be overstaffed by 1,600. Then they furlough 1,600. And it's a coincidence.

Not official yet, the word is "anticipated". I'm just saying.

Man I wish. But you have SWA, SPIRIT, JET BLUE all saying no involuntary furloughs even without Cares 2. No word of furloughs at SKY WEST either. So is PSP 2.0 needed? Or is it just propping up the big 3?
