Speaking of DAL, do they have seperate divisions like we used to / have in some bases. I wonder if eliminating those is going to help a little bit.

Another "great" article about our upcoming bankruptcy! (sigh)

Well, we certainly didn't help the cash situation by being so bullish on the recovery. That said, I was happy with the decision that was made at the time - if we're still showing no signs of recovery by later this year, I don't think the outcome for us (or anyone) really changes too much based on whether we threw up a Hail Mary early in the summer.

We are basically going back to a March situation. Company announced cancellations next month due to lack of demand. I was hopeful of avoiding furloughs but now feel it will be inevitable. Will APA agree to a plan to mitigate the number? I think this should and will happen. Lower ALV. It will also help the company recover faster if more current pilots are On property. As usual it will be a battle. I have been pleasantly surprised by the companies actions so far but I will never trust them.
A few gems our senior management have said in the past, “Pull together win together”. “We are on the court house steps”. “You don’t understand executive compensation “. “The pilots are the bricks in our backpack”. “We don’t reward bad behavior with good flying”. We all want this company to succeed and thrive. I am afraid it’s going to get much worse before it gets better. We as a nation wasted the last 4 months. Apologies for being so negative but I have bad feeling about the next couple months. Maybe I am a realist. I hope no one gets furloughed. Good luck to us all. |

Adam is a fool and has no idea what he is talking about. He throws opinion around to hopefully boost his earnings in JetBlue and Delta. All he talks about is hub closures. It’s best to just not click and give him the views.

"Crusty old hold outs"? Really, Really? Us crusty old hold outs carried your water before you knew what it was. Here's an idea...you quit and open a position for a deserving pilot.
Last night I worked with an A320 "Crusty Old Holdout" that put in for a VPLOA as soon as he was eligible. He didn't get it. He was told that the program didn't deliver the savings predicted. Junior pilots loss, but excellent captain. My guess..the company will move towards other ideas to save jobs. Our NC will get right on it. Oh, wait. JA don’t sign off on APC the way you always sign off on The Line.... |

Now upwards of 2500 of us pilots will be unemployed at AA alone. I feel bad for all the workgroups getting furloughed, but they're not going from six figures to unemployment. We can't make up for our current salaries by driving for Uber Eats. I am only mildly optimistic about a couple of things right now. #1: APA and our new (finally) negotiating committee began meeting with the company today to come up with furlough avoidance/mitigation ideas. I'm kind of hopeful for now. #2. There seems to be a pretty good desire in Washington to extend the Cares Act and the Payroll Protection Program another six months for the airlines. #3. Actually having a vaccine by the end of the year/beginning of next year appears to be a reality now. Once we have a vaccine I believe it'll be a watershed moment. People will feel more comfortable, and begin wading into the pool again.. aka: going about their normal lives including air travel. But yeah..we shouldn't be hanging onto such a thin thread right now. If morons had just acted like adults back in March and wore the masks we would be in a much better place. It doesn't help that we don't have any kind of leadership right now..but I won't even get into that. I can't help but think of England during World War Two..when the Nazis were conducting nightly bombing raids on them. The entire city of London would go dark so the German bombers wouldn't have a target to strike. Imagine if in the middle of that blackout some redneck waving the British flag lit up his entire house and claimed it was his "freedom" to do whatever he wanted. Yeah..now replace bombs with COVID and lights with masks. That's the level of stupid we're dealing with in America today. |
