Quote: Alternate lines you work every other month. Zero credit lines you work or you go
to the box. They aren’t paying you u less you work.
I understand that, but the number of furloughs that occur would depend on the company having an idea of payroll costs down the road, no?

Edit: never mind, I misread the fine print. These aren’t month to month bids - six month increments!

The new VEOP is an insult, especially after what the other majors offered their pilots. I do not think AA will get very many pilots taking that, if any. It does not look like AA is very serious about mitigating furloughs. Too bad.

I may have misread, but I read the zero credit lines as only being able to put in for premium. Meaning no make up (pick up form open time). Correct me if I’m wrong please.

No MU, but still able to TTS/TTOT and Premium.

Quote: Some of the people with a reasonable A fund might, assuming they can start using it (since it's retirement, and not a permanent leave) but beyond that it seems like a pretty poor deal.
I think it’s specifically targeting those people. Considering the company is done giving VPLOA’s this is still a win.

Quote: Also, with the zero time lines and alternating ones you can still pick up open time. That's kind of a game changer. Look at LOA 3 or whatever it's called. A junior pilot can volunteer for a zero time line rather than be furloughed and still be able to pick up open time.

Better check yourself on that. I read it as with a zero time line you can use TTS, TTOT, and premium. With the alternating ones, pilots "will only be eligible to fly during the working bid month though contractual month of May 2021"

I probably missed that part, but it still evens out. If every other month you credit 80 hours it comes out to 40 a month. With zero time and picking up enough trips you can get to 40 as well. Or more depending on how much open time there is.

that is The question.

How much open time will there be?
Plus what about a junior reserve pilot? Are they able to hold these zero time lines and pick up open time?
This also pits pilots vs pilots when we have people picking up open time while having pilots furloughed out on the street.

I don't think anyone is gonna fault a pilot on a zero or alternate month schedule from picking up. It'll still be painfully obvious who's out there whoring while we have guys on the street.

k. Each pilot who is awarded a Zero Line shall reduce the number of furloughed pilots on a one-for-one basis; however, a pilot who would otherwise be involuntarily furloughed may not reduce a furlough for another pilot who is also subject to involuntary furlough. As a result of pilots who would otherwise be involuntarily furloughed being awarded a Zero Line, more senior pilots who did not request a Zero Line may be furloughed even though more junior pilots who requested for and were awarded a Zero Line are not furloughed.

so am I wrong or did we just agree to let them furlough OUT of seniority order?!!!
