Would McCaskill-Bond actually apply?

Honest question.

If the WO’s were bringing 3000 pilots, they could give 250 some sort of seniority. But the 2750 would be happy to throw the senior guys under the bus

Can't really see Piedmont closing up operations with their 145s. AA needs that lift and Piedmont is ready and willing to deliver it.

it looks like 2/3 of all RJ CA will be hired away by the majors in 2022. Whether AA needs that lift, most all the RJs will not have sufficient CA to fly their planes. There will be a consolidation, and radical changes whether you like it or not.

If AA can fill both E175 and E145s, but they cannot fill all the planes with CA to fly them, guess which ones will make them more money.

I know at PSA you're only talking about maybe 20 lifers?

If they mutually agree to apply a staple or some other non-McCaskill-Bond compliant SLI method then no, it would not apply. McC-B is made to prevent a TWA-style unilateral rape.

I'm not a lawyer, but my take on it is all those lifers who have wet dreams about relative seniority integrations have already TURNED DOWN the opportunity to go to the bottom of that list and work their way up, while many of their co-workers have opted to move on and flow and start that part of their career. All a staple would do is do that all at once.

An alternative is start actually having 50-76 seat jets at mainline, build the proper instructor cadre, and "flow" existing RJ pilots into seats in the same type on a different list. Probably many ways to skin this particular cat.
