this is why we need solid language as well. If this passes the flow charts are going to get crazy!
Lazy, incompetent, clueless negotiating enabled by multiple lazy, incompetent, clueless BoD reps.

Ultimately, you don’t HAVE to do anything. Sick, fatigue, commuter miss, or just don’t do it and get a missed trip. Whatever. Just don’t sexually assault someone and you really can’t get fired here.

Bingo..... anytime we discussed this, as far back as 2011, the APA and ALPA positions always had fences. We ended up with a proposal that both sides bought off on at the time, but when presented to management, they wouldn't go for it. They'd probably approve it in a second now.... but fleets have changed and the old proposal would need serious tweaking. Post bankruptcy with the addition of two more WO's who really weren't talking with eachother since 2 were stealing planes from the other kinda made getting that agreement again problematic. Times have changed, the three WO are willing to work together, and if APA can get the idea of a straight staple out of their head, progress can be made. NOBODY is ever going for a straight staple to become furlough fodder the next time AA furloughs 2-3 thousand.

if it helps discussions at all....

in our agreed upon proposal, at the time it fenced the E190 off as the "gap" jet between the two lists. ALPA pilots could not displace anybody from a higher group, and APA pilots could not displace anybody from any RJ. The E190 was the only group where everybody bid their own actual company longevity.

The date of signing would trigger the future end of the fence. When the first pilot hired AFTER the date of signing was able to hold ANY position above the E190 with his/her seniority, then fences went away for all.

End result, a single list with no fences.

With the 190 gone, you'd need a new "gap" jet, and since group 1 covers a huge chuck of the fleet, that probably won't work well anymore. Any A220's on order?

New Hire
E145, CRJ, E175/70
Fence protecting displacement from above
New Group 1 Gap Jet (A220?)
Fence protecting displacement from super senior RJ guys below
New Group 2 & above (A320, B737....)

In event of a furlough, the New hires AFTER DOS at the regional level are subject to furlough from displacement from senior pilots from both sides of the fence. New hires would all start on the regional fleet types. In fact, should probably make the RJ's Group 1, the gap jet Group 2, and everything else moves up a group position too

I have predicted the A220s will be ordered by AA to bridge the gap between E175 and B737 & A320. AA executives have said they have no plans. But there is too big a gap not to be filled with something.. I still predict it will happen.

Every negotiating update is worse than the last one. I hope Delta or United come up with something first, but then again maybe the BOD will just vote not to discuss it so they don't have to try to match it.

What's the seat config difference between 319 and 220? Seems like 319 is doing a lot of regional stuff as is.

These emails are making me nervous because our list is made up of too many guys that'd vote yes for just about anything.

E175 is 76 seat in standard configuration,
AA A319 is 128 seat.
That is quit a jump.

(As reference,
AA A320 is 150 seat,
AA B737-800 is 160 seat)

Delta A220-100 is 109 seat, it kind of splits the difference.

(Delta A220-300 is 140 seat.)

A319 has 80 on order, 1,573 delivered.
A220 has 551 on order, 223 delivered.

The seat counts and number on order seems to back up my statement. I stand by it.
