Not to point fingers, but I'm always curious as to the situation one is in where they don't go for premium...I'm assuming you are not a local on a narrow body fleet, is that correct? My point being that those who hate on the pilots picking up premium usually have a reason why they are unable to and because of that, come off altruistic in why they don't pick it up.
Agreed. The most vocal out there about not picking up premium happen to be those that aren't able to do it because they don't live in base.

We don't have leverage because the majority of our pilots are mission hackers and circumvent the contract or just plain ignorant to the contract.

There were some designated 100% premium (200% total) in August. The company maintained a list on AApilots. Dunno if it’s still there.

I agree with those who believe our holiday/100% premium LOA language was garbage.

I’m in favor of an ALPA merger, if only under the logic that it couldn’t be any worse than APA.

Isom’s supposed “I’ll park widebodies if you don’t sign my contract proposal” threat doesn’t make any sense, because he would indeed be fired for doing so. AA needs every bit of revenue it can get to service all of its debt. Impossible to generate revenue on a parked widebody.

Parking widebodies as a result of a worldwide economic collapse, maybe, but I don’t see things getting that bad… and if they do, DAL and UAL are gonna be right behind AAL.

Yep, still there. Last updated Aug 9th so that lasted long. Too many mission hackers out there willing to work at 50% premium so why should they offer more?

They can't pick up any trips if their schedule is blocked as PU.

yeah but it certainly clears the rest of their schedule, never having any 117 conflicts on days off…

Yes this is true. Has anyone confirmed of any APA reps flying while having any trips removed as PU?

I agree that those that are the loudest are the ones that never pick it up anyway. You can ask them directly on “the line” and they will admit as such, or usually brag about it without being asked. I disagree that it’s because they are commuters. DOTC has made PM super easy for commuters. More likely they don’t understand it, how it benefits them, how to do it, etc. or they think it involves lots of work sitting at a computer. These are often the same folks that complain incessantly about PBS, yet 99% of their problem is user error. Highly entertaining at least.
