Can't believe I need to explain this in 2023 but you can't be mad at anybody who took you at your word.
Its not like I came out and said, hello I’m management. I said it in a response to someone else accusing me of being management. I believe the exact quote was “fine I’m management, happy?”. I think it’s pretty easy to deduce sarcasm from that response. I’ll be honest, the fact that this conversation has reduced to us debating this kind of a thing, I’m losing interest.

meh, I'm sure there is some rig provision that would push that up a bit. The point remains the same, there is a crapload of inefficient pairings that average out to min day guarantee that filter their way down to low seniority line-holders.

According to some you all are a bunch of whiners

yes, that junior dude got a hybrid line. Before anyone reading thinks “oh, that sounds cool”, it is a very small number of people who get a hybrid line. The very, very junior lineholders. One or two months and boom, you are too senior and wont get one again. But I am sure El Paso knew that when he posted that bogus 18 days off management friendly drivel BS.

You don't get paid if you don't accept the days. I, for one, would love this but your explanation is misleading.

20 hour 4 days don’t exist unless you’re at United. At 5:15 ACD, a 4 day is 21 hours minimum.

Hybrid lines are great deals. Yep, I wish we could bid for them. Sounds like APA is negotiating for some sort of “blank” line bidding, where you could essentially bid to have nothing awarded and you’d be a free agent. That would go stupid senior.

I don’t have an issue with people complaining about AA. There’s a ton to complain about and a ton to improve upon. It’s annoying when people outright lie or use extremist hyperbole to try to make AA sound worse or better than it is. Posting things without context, saying absolutes like “every flight every day to every location is oversold so you can never non-rev, trip trading is so locked down that there are zero trades ever (as I have dropped all but a single 2-day for February), etc etc. There’s a lot of nuance out there, seniority and what aircraft/domicile you are plays a massive role in what’s achievable, etc.

The first year 401k and 13-16 month first year pay are complete BS. AA management should be ashamed. Like Delta and their lack of paying for new hire hotels, AA should fix those things with zero negotiating capital spent by APA.

I don’t think those that stretch the truth to make AA sound especially awful, with the goal of steering people away in hopes of enhancing negotiating leverage, are going to be successful doing so. But that’s just my opinion. Following the contact, not extending, not blindly following CCI, utilizing commuter miss, not becoming a CKA, etc all rank higher in terms of leverage, IMHO.

Not arguing that second year pay shouldn’t actually start at the 12 months mark, but so far it’s 14 months and not the 18.

I was going to reply to argue it was 3-4 months from the end of indoc to the start of sims but after looking at my latest couple of sponsoree's it is has gone down so that the most recent new hire is starting sims 6 weeks after starting at AA, add in a long course and you are about right.

I’d like to hear from someone currently in new-hire training as to how far out their “pay date” is in relation to hire date as well as the norm among classmates…anyone?

When I was a new-hire and there were no delays it was 14.5 months. That was when there were no training dept issues…
