Which that "amendment" is in the process of being overturned. Seems absurd we have so many poison pills and bylaws that discourage actual representation of the pilot group.

this is where I am as well. We need 50% + 1 if it ever comes to a vote. That is 50% of the pilot group, not 50% of voters. Anyone who doesn’t vote is counted as a no. Sounds like this was setup to fail from the beginning.

APA didn’t come to ALPA, cup in hand, asking for a savior. They came to in an attempt to negotiate mutually-agreeable merger terms. There are benefits to current ALPA members associated with a 20% increase in membership. There are benefits to APA members to joining the largest pilot union on earth.

While I don’t disagree, there are those who don’t care either way. I’ve flown with many who have said they don’t vote because they don’t really care. They show up, do their job, and go home. Whether their bag says APA or ALPA is irrelevant. It would be nice to get those guys/gals involved because their vote could matter. Many didn’t vote for their base reps so I don’t see them showing up to vote for a union. If they don’t care who represents us, them voting yes could make a big difference.
