So it was only your seniority that got your quality of life, is that what you are saying? Did APA do anything to improve QOL for the whole pilot group? How many more pilots did AA have to hire to cover the same amount of flying under the new contract? Did you know both UA and DL had to hire more pilots to cover the same amount of flying? That is the single best indicator of significant QOL gains.
In your little survey group of friends from different airlines, how is their profit sharing? How are they enjoying the other massive gains they got in their last contract?
It's these "everything is fine for me" people who live in their own little shells on why we will never see significant improvement in our union or catch up to UA/DL.

yes, you’re right. It’s my seniority that got me to where I am. If you call mid 11000 being senior. It’s still junior as ******* to me. Like I said, give me a third party perspective, and I’m all ears. Hell, show me someone who is an APA loyalist, but also excited about the opportunity to go to ALPA, and I would want to hear what they have to say as well. So far, all the anti- APA gold that I’ve run across are all pro-ALPA for different reasons- excluding section 6. So, to me, that is just as self-serving as the “everything is fine for me” group.

Did you just crawl out of a hole or do you just want things repeated at you over and over again? The reasons have been discussed ad nauseam on these boards over the last three years and there was a very vocal campaign by the AA for ALPA organization. You either choose to be willfully ignorant or aren't interested in the reasons presented. Maybe you should ask your little advisory panel of pilot "friends" from other airlines on how you should vote.

hey, I signed the card, I signed up for the emails from AAPILOTS4ALPA. I’ve yet to hear a compelling argument and plan for HOW the issues that that have been “discussed ad nauseam” will actually be fixed. But, yeah, I’ll be a no vote, manly because folks like you that would rather berate people for being happy with how their lives are in their own little shells, than actually try to educate others on how the changes will actually be made under a new banner. How is ALPA going to make the unicorns and rainbows appear out of the ****ing sky?

Look, APA certainly has some warts. Absolutely nobody disputes that. But to expect people to just blindly follow a switch to ALPA when they’re already happy with their $/QOL ratio, without so much as a single coherent argument other than “because I said so”, is a really naive perspective.
By the way, I also signed a card.

This is my issue with the pro-ALPA types. They complain that our contract "isn't good enough" but it passed with 73% to 27% and when I ask them personally they said they voted yes. So for a strong majority of pilots they thought it was good enough at the time and now are trying to re-trade because they want more?
The other major issue I have is nobody is explaining how ALPA will be any better at *insert pet peeve here*. It is essentially "APA screwed this up therefore ALPA will make life perfect". How?
My concern is there is all this effort and focus being put into the letterhead and at the end of the day nothing will change except my dues will nearly double.
I am open minded to change but you need to show me how things will be better. I agree with your complaints about APA but how does changing the name fix any of them?

I don’t care what people think needs to be fixed. I want to know how it will be fixed.
Does ALPA just walk into SkyView (pick a building) and scare the **** out of everyone?
Is our company going to all of a sudden change its behavior because of our union?
Are we going to replace all of our APA leadership on day one?
How long do we need to wait until all of the magic at ALPA turns AA into the stuff of DAL/UAL’s dreams?
