No, Global Scope was pretty popular and passed easily. The last crap TA we had was what we call "TA1" for Contract 15, which failed in the fall of 2015.

Did that contain the 1 for 1 on flights as opposed to seats for global scope?

this is absurd, if a company is much more profitable, they can pay their guys more. This next round of contracts is going to blow if Bobby doesn’t get his $h!t out of the street. Oh but wait, alpa will show us the way.

yet somehow he could pay to match Dalpa/Ualpa contracts?
the money was there. Apa either wouldn’t or couldn’t get it done without ALPA doing the lifting.

I think it ended up being a calculated move during the hiring frenzy. Attack LCCs with basic economy on the revenue side and pilot wages on the cost side.

So keep your fingers crossed that hiring levels stay above 1,000 per year at the Big 3 until this negotiating cycle completes.

Parker always said he'd match the other contracts in $ value. He even offered to adopt Delta's contract verbatim. He seemed to think as long as costs are similar, we could compete on management alone.

Unfortunately for him, that was pre-covid when AA would never lose money again and $3b in profit was a "bad year", while $7b was a "good year".

Default Genuine question

How would we know that APA is negotiating in good faith in this discovery phase?. In other words, could ALPA provide a summary to the APA membership directly, on their perspective with regard to the merger discussion with APA leadership. APA leadership could just provide their side of the negotiation - and us APA members would never know if APA negotiated in bad faith.

It would be illegal for ALPA to do that. You just have to trust your elected representatives.
