I used to be indifferent, but we’ve taken too many Ls the last couple of years. Lost the jumpseat provision we negotiated, bent over on past practice for 3b removals, etc. Not only is the contract language ambiguous, they don’t have the stomach to enforce it.

"Your leg? I walk." Some FO's wouldn't allow it - "you're a w/b Captain. You are NOT doing the walk-around." It wasn't worth fighting over but it would have made worldwide headlines - CA and FO come to blows over who will do the walk-around. FO refused to allow Captain outside...

Professional Standards would have been stunned - "is this an April Fools joke? Am I being pranked?"

Don't forget this Alaska scope I am sure we're about to take a massive L on.

Also the alpa APA merger will fail because of the gustin amendment. So in effect it's a waste of money at this point and is just for show. "We tried, you guys didn't vote enough for it" see you in 25 years. I'm the mean time we continue to take Ls and ride Delta and United coattails. Couldn't even slide a no single pilot ops clause into the CBA.

I almost guarantee APA tries to sell us some kind of concessionary agreement this time around. "We asked they said no"

Then we negotiate better and if not, WE, ALL of us vote NO. I see the TAs getting squashed at least the first 2. Pay is there. Most of us are keyed in for the rules and language now.

Take your surveys!

The Agustin Amendment is meant to say, essentially:

“Even inside a merged union, each airline’s pilots keep control over their own contract, negotiations, and strike authority.”

Please explain. Why is this bad for AA pilots? Or is it an amendment that ALPA is against?

That’s not what the "Gustin" amendment does at all. Not even in the same zip code.

Typical AA pilot... Being this out of touch at this point is inexcusable, and frankly exasperating.

Proof I would turn to ChatGPT and this forum before stepping foot in the Line.

Go ahead and finish your negotiations via the Line. Let me know when the details are out. I”ll look at the specifics and vote accordingly.

The Gustin Amendment capitalizes on a disengaged and apathetic pilot group.A pilot who does not vote will be counted as a 'No' vote.

When only ~10% of pilots bothered voting for changes to constitution bylaws, one can easily see how the Gustin amendment will serve APA's agenda of not merging with ALPA.

It's the GUSTIN Amendment, and holy **** if you're an AA pilot and you're this disengaged, I'm truly concerned for all of us.

The Gustin Amendment counts all non-voters as automatic "no" votes. It's the most absurd, corrupt, antidemocratic thing I've ever seen from a pilot union. Imagine if that's how congress was elected? We would never see any turnover.
