Probably a couple years. There are a bunch of pilots that want ORD that haven't had a chance yet since we merged lists. It doesn't look like they've been adding anyone there lately, so it will probably take a while to get through the backlog. I'm a June '14 hire and would be 80% on the 737 there, so it's not super senior. They don't have the Airbus there and currently no plans. If you want ORD, you should probably bid the 737.

April bid run the junior award went to a 787 FO hired in Nov 1991. No n/b slots.
Might be six months, might be three years.
Junior guys, especially trying to get into bases with little movement, have to but a bid in for that base and leave it. The moments when a slot drops to your seniority might be few and far between. Worst case example is the guy who wanted to enjoy the summer and then go to upgrade school. Summer of 2001. Six or seven years later he got his upgrade.
^^ Regional guys typically understand that. Military guys have less familiarity with base bidding.

A squadron-mate of mine just got video invite this week. He's a tanker IP with around 3,000 hrs mil with very little civ time. Applied about a year ago. Never went to a job fair.

Displaced maybe... July or Aug 2015 was the last 75/76 new hire award on the AA side. I have a good buddy who was pretty junior on the 75/76 (DOH 2014 LUS). Once they parked their 757 he was displaced down to the Airbus.
