IMO no carrier is 'better' that it's worth commuting to if you have another carrier where you live. ATL? Chase DL. DFW? Chase AA. SFO? Chase UA.[/QUOTE]

I live in CT and a 45 min to my reserve job. Was hoping for NY so I can drive to both. From word on the street everyone if getting put on the US side on the E190 in PHL. Not really ideal. Im 15 minutes from Bradley so it wouldn't be the worst commute if i had to do it for a little while. If i stick it out and don't get on elsewhere Im hoping the option to take AA side will come back. Will be easier to get NY then on the US side. But from what I'm reading there would be advantages to US side from a money/benefits perspective. Dang ..wish i had a crystal ball.

Realistically, you look at the wait for the class date and training and we should be a lot closer to having the seniority integration completed (target Dec 2015) then waiting on company IT issues into 2016 and you might be able to bid into NY anyway. Take what comes up first. IMHO FWIW

Was told by higher up union official yesterday no new hires until August.
Whether or not he meant the AA side only I'm not sure.
Also the fleet is shrinking a little by I think 30 airframes. Once the dust settles I think there will be a good bit of street hiring.
Was told in 7-8 years 50% off all 3 US/AW/AA will be gone and in 12-13 years almost 80%.

At current avg age of retirement 80% of New AA will be retired by the end of 2029.

Thanks for the update. It's all a guess but it looks like the US side for us long in the tooth poolies (I'm a 1 OCt interviewee). And that's going to happen only once a month (since it's US only) and at 6-9 off the street hire at a time. That seems to be the consensus here.

Yeah if there is a US class in June, I would think most of the October interviewees would get put into it. Hopefully they aren't slowing classes down during the summer. I wonder how many October interviewees are left at this point. I would guess about a dozen. A couple are in the May US class and a couple were hired other places.

All MD-80s by the end of 2017 and some of the older B-757s, B-767s, and A-320s.

We are bringing on new B-737s, A-321s, B-787s and B-777s to replace them. A-350s start coming in 2017.

I found this link to the fleet plan...

American Airlines' 2015 Fleet Plan

I wonder how the whole A320 retirements vs new 321s will work out. I don't see whether the new 321s will be operated by LAA or LUS. (Or how many will go to each side.)
