I found this link to the fleet plan...
American Airlines' 2015 Fleet Plan
I wonder how the whole A320 retirements vs new 321s will work out. I don't see whether the new 321s will be operated by LAA or LUS. (Or how many will go to each side.)

Hey poolies, I'm trying to gather intel for yall while I'm in Dallas for recurrent. Best guess is recalls/flows only thru June, street hires in classes starting in July. Remember July n August 1 class only, then 2/month after that. Best of luck

Still 1000 furloughees on deferred furlough. Plays a huge part in your immediate future should you chose to come to AA. I'd pick it 3rd behind DL and United at present for this and other reasons. Shrinking fleet size, worst work rules QOL, etc.

Well I'm not losing seniority to the 1000. I know it may suck at first but in the long run here's what I'm thinking. dal has been hiring like crazy the last couple years. Everyone in there mid 30s and younger than I am. Pushing 41. Those are all people I will never be senior to so at best I'm guessing and this is a guess , the lowest I'd get on seniority list is about 2000 ish. Maybe. aA has not hired in years. From what I'm seeing most are older than I am. I have a buddy who will be No 1, another about 80 ish and another 6 months ahead of me who is my age projected to get down around 300ish. . So it makes sense to me that I could get down to around 600 or 700ish at AA. Fastest movement and best in long run. Does that make sense to anyone else or should I be chasing the money and better rules at DAL instead of long term seniority and QOL?

What's wrong w/going to work at any of the others and when a class opens for AA then make your decision? If you get hired for the others, why not take it? You'd rather sit and wait for AA?

SOME of the work rules are worse than United and Delta but not all. I don't have the contract comparison handy but a few things that stood out as better at AA are pay during training, paid hotel during training, the 401k contribution is higher than Delta, and there is no airport reserve. The pay rates are the highest but IMAX (union imposed limit of credit hours) and no profit sharing dilute the payscale. AA has a good choice of bases and a pilot hired today will advance to the left seat faster than any other legacy. The retirements start sooner and are more numerous than any other legacy.

I don't think AA is a bad choice, I would just rank it behind the other two. The areas where the contract is superior are few in numbers and only fractionally better when they are in fact better. The retirement numbers are great, but meaningless if the overall size of the airline continues to shrink. Not that it really matters a whole lot, but the LUS flying is probably the worst of the bunch (maybe some of the DL md88 stuff is equally as bad). When you add in the deferd pilot variable, it really tips the scales towards the other two. If you come to AA, be prepared to not see the left seat for quite sometime. (E190 will be gone soon to I fear).
