We've got a guy in my reserve unit who's an Envoy pilot. They are telling him he'll flow in 4-5 years. I told him that's probably optimistic, at best.

Something to remember is that as long as the class sizes for the month are 60 or less, at least 50% will be from envoy. They can send more as they have been doing, but there can be no "give" below 50%.

Can someone point me to an actual document outlining what the "flow agreement" actually is rather than relying on what others post? It seems that a simple look at what has been contractually agreed upon would clarify any rumors floating around?

It also seems there will always be a handful of misguided and self-serving pilots more than willing to exacerbate this dysfunction by happily dragging others down this primrose path.
Wow! I just thought that the constant beat-down, the incessant antagonism, the misinformation, the creative contract interpretations, etc. would quickly suck all hope from the most cheerful optimist. I didn't want to hijack this thread but I'm rather shocked to hear this. Thank you.

I get that, but right now flows and furloughs are taking up 90-100% of the classes. 30+ a month for OTS bubbas would be a marked improvement.

Thanks

I was wondering what the change in classes was. A year ago the US classes were 30s to 50s and a mixture of: commuter, military, and other airlines (Jet Blue, Frontier, Southwest, and Alaska). Now I see a new hire class and they're all 50+ yr old clones. Why do I get a bad feeling we're inbreeding now

I'm pretty sure AA did not shut down training for October but has anyone heard of any dates for the two classes. Seems NO one knows.

Maybe it's the flows who sell it so hard, as they need new pilots to sign on to the Ponzi scheme so they can flow before anything major disrupts the hiring flow.
Remember how many endured a 16yr rj contract in the 90's only to have the "flow" stop for many a year.
Best of luck.

TOGA,
You mean your not getting any information from mgmt as to timing? Let your current treatment be a sign of how future mgmt will see you, labor to be called and avail when needed.
Hey, seems as though everyone else is hiring, just waiting for AA to come around may be a fruitful, or perilous decision.
Best of luck.
