Those going to the LUS side have been getting PHL 190 and I think the last few classes at LAA have been 737 LGA. The last few classes have all been going to the LAA side.

Right around the time you're able to bid off, you'll be able to hold good trips and have some of them taken away for training (with pay.) It's an easy airplane to learn and fly. The only real drawback is there is only a PHL base, though there are rumors of DCA happening soon, and the lack of variety in flying.
My classmates that took the A-320 out of training (June 2014) are all still on reserve. Only DCA can hold long call. PHL and CLT are on short call.
It appears that on the AA side only A-320 MIA can expect to get off reserve in any reasonable amount of time.
Can you still make Capt in a year on the 190?

190 CA can still be held after probation. I think there were still vacancies after the last bid.

The 190 is a sweet gig for the time being.

I've had a trip bought from me 4 months in a row. I haven't had to work a day I wanted off since I got hired. I get pretty decent trips with weekends off. If there wasn't such a huge difference in 2nd year pay, I'd stay on it. In the mean time I'm being held and getting 90+ credit hours a month at the higher pay.

Keep in mind, if you're a mil-only guy, you need the requisite 1,000 hours of 121 experience before you can sit left seat...so those of us that came from the military can't realistically bid into the E190 captain positions in a year.

well that puts a damper on things. I don't see getting a 1000 hours the first year. Seems it would be a good deal doubling your pay rate s cond year. Except you would probably be sitting reserve for a while after making CA

The reason more people don't bid e-190 capt is reserve. Looks to me like holding a line on the e190 takes a LOT of seniority. There are a lot of 20+ year guy who are holding good lines. And a loooong way down to the reserve capts-seniority wise.
