I was a June 14 hire. My options on the Aug and Oct bids were CLT 320, 190 CA, and 190 FO. There are pilots junior to me in DCA 320, PHL 320, and PHL 767, but all vacancies were filled senior to me. I had a 190 FO in my jumpseat (July 14 hire, I think) that only had 320 FO on his bid. He didn't get anything on the Aug bid, but could have held 190 CA. He got CLT 320 on the Nov bid.

I think that's the ONLY place we've been sending new guys (LUS).

That's correct, right now the only path for anyone in the right seat of the 190 hired Aug '14 or later is to the left seat of the 190. Most of us think this will change with bids run in the spring but no one really knows. The real effect this might have on people's bidding strategies is that before the choice was reserve on the 190 or a block/line on the 320 in DCA or PHL, whereas now the choice is reserve 190 PHL or reserve 190 PHL or CLT which means you get less pay in years 2 and 3 and get to fly lots of red eyes. I'm not on the Bus but talking to those who are, DCA 320 is a nice spot to be if you're on reserve because there are no red eyes and pretty good flying compared to 190 schedules.

Looking at the winbid reserve app it appears the 190 FOs in training right now aren't "new". I think they have been here a while and were displaced from the 320 into the 190 earlier this year. We have been at 3701 for the junior guy for months.

Does the 190 do red eyes?
