Have to be honest with you here, those items may be concessions but imho they are not worth what I would be financially sacrificing over the next 5 years and maybe even longer.
And all you who think the economy is guaranteed to be great in 2018 when we open section 6 are being very naive. Oil will be high by then, major international economies are on the brink of collapse and any other unknown events , health epidemic, terrorism etc.... You can kiss your big raise in 2018-2020 right down the toilet and we are stuck being the lowest paid. But hey that's all we've always been, the lowest paid so I guess our expectations should continue to be ****.
Merry Christmas

For whoever said negotiations is give and take, where have you been for the last 13 years when all the pilots did was give give give in exchange for supposedly keeping their airline afloat in exchange for a promise that they'd get it back in better times. Here we are, the best of times. Airlines are the most profitable they've EVER been. So what else do you feel obligated to give?

In the spirit of acting like mature adults it would be great to drop the DUI references and alcohol humor. It's embarrassing and will not engender sympathy from those you are seeking to convince. It's right up there with name calling

Do you realize that negotiations are a give and take process? You have to be able to meet in the middle.
Everyone keeps throwing Delta's contract out as what ours should be based on. Well, guess what? We are not Delta. Delta is 7 years into their merger. We are not even combined yet! What happens when AA goes to combine reservations, etc., and everything goes to hell and it costs the company millions? There is a lot of risk for the company in the next few years. The fact that the company is offering us pay way above Delta when they have no obligation to shows that they are trying to foster a positive culture and make this a viable airline. All they are asking for is a few miniscule changes that will only affect a very, very small percentage of people in exchange for industry leading pay. I cannot believe the bullheadedness of all of you! It makes me sick!

Parker's original deal was slammed to the table. The APA's "wants" are not in play. This isn't negotiations, it's DICTATION. You're position wont change in 5-10 years. There will simply be another excuse of why whatever offer is presented should be accepted.
Parker RENEGED on his promise to pay Delta rates with this profitability. He's not. He's requiring the APA PAY for them. Are the F/A's paying for their raises with concessions ?
How about all the other employees getting that 4% ?
It's a slap in the face and clearly some of the APA reps are in bed with Parker to some degree, thus his extra boldness to screw us and belittle us at the same time.

Clearly, the $$$ has deafened you from hearing your own absurdity.

I'm not sure that these reps are being bought, but they're more than likely in over their heads. Remember pilots are not professional negotiators. But the company employs professional negotiators. The reps may not realize when they're being outmaneuvered

It's useless arguing with all of you. APA BOD should not be the gatekeeper to my career. They need to put this out for a vote and let us decide for ourselves! It should not be up to the board alone to decide this.
If this union, who is supposed to represent my best interests, screws me out of thousands of dollars, I will never give an ounce of support to them again. Matter of fact, I'm looking up Texas RTW laws right now, just in case.
