Pilots suck at negotiations. Negotiations just got started and people that don't like negotiations are ready to fold to make the discomfort go away, or they are 63+.
Blame. Well, at least you finally are getting it. The mirror is looking pretty cracked by now, isn't it. BTW, I'm still a ways from 60.

There's an old saying, "Money walks and BS talks."

Hope that helps.

We voted for the MOU. Some bases by 98%. I don't see a problem with keeping it, especially when the offer is...

Not much.. The APA isn't asking for much, and negotiations are not over until the APA says YES, or the arbitrator rules... If Parker will pay this much for what he can't have in arbitration, then there is no way he will ever let an arbitrator rule.

Glass just needs a YES, and he will get it far before an arbitrator rules.

Start the BOD recall wars.
I could care less about combining int/dom. That's the status quo on the US side. As far as HBT, from what I understand it will only affect something like 3 routes in the system. So, if the above were accepted, it would only affect a very small portion of pilots. So, I guess it's OK with the union to screw the majority of the pilot group to protect a very small percentage of the pilots, i.e. the most senior pilots in the company.

The only valuation we have on Parker's concession is the butt loads of money he wants to buy them for before he goes to arbitration and can't get them.

If you will trade the illusion of more net money for delayed upgrades and more days away from your family then that is your call. You can buy them tickets to travel with you.

All Parker did was offer his original deal, but add a 4% signing bonus. That is the "sweetener". The "ultimatum" was that it was concurrently offered with the proffer of arbitration. So, we got both our sweetener and ultimatum, although packaged differently then I predicted.

Will the MEC blink ?

That is the question and on that one, I have no idea. I give it an even 50/50 chance to be put out for vote. Clearly the MEC won't ratify this.

How bout THIS for the NEW YEAR:

“Although we have offered a proposal that is better than what will be achieved through arbitration, the APA Board of Directors is not yet comfortable accepting those terms or putting them out to its members for a vote,” Kirby said.

“Both sides have worked hard to this point, but the last proposal we received from the APA was significantly more expensive than even their previous proposal and in negotiations that simply takes us backwards,” he said.

Under terms of a “merger transition agreement” (MTA) signed before the December 2013 merger, the union is obligated to accept binding arbitration if the two sides cannot agree on terms of a joint agreement and management then offers binding arbitration."
Also nice to see the company (NOT APA) is giving Envoy pilots preferred hiring. APA didn't have anything to do with it.

Here comes ALPA. (God I hope not).

The deal offers Envoy pilots “new, large and modern aircraft to fly and faster career advancement at both Envoy and American Airlines. Envoy now offers all existing pilots, as well as future new hires, a direct career progression to the world’s largest mainline carrier,”
Can you say "New hire Captains"??

Man, I'm feeling the LOVE already. Glad APA is on top of it.

Merry Christmas, Baby!

Telling Parker to pack sand and accepting an arbitration award is just fine with me. No tears here. Protect the Green Book provisions, turn our backs on Parker and waiting 12 months for better then UAL rates are more attractive to me then capitulating to North Korean style threats and intimidation. Just because you act like a Sony executive, doesn't mean we all have to.

Terry Maxon is a mouth piece and lapdog for AAG management. The only one worse is that idiot Schnurman and I'm sure we'll hear from him soon, especially if APA gives the finger to Parker.
