Where are you coming from? Do you have another other offer or irons in the fire?
I personally would look for carriers that you often see mentioned that rank highly as a brand. JetBlue, SWA, Virgin, DAL. For a lot of us regional guys, US Airways was the only 'legacy' who was calling us. I had an offer from jetBlue but only after starting class, long term, not sure if I made a good choice. Short term no brainier, but just look at how fast SWA grew in the mid-2000's basically at the expense of US Airways.

I REALLY like the fleet plan. We have a lot of new airplane on the way-and we are replacing old ass birds at a rapid pace.
I think it is smart to jump on some new planes while interest rates are low, and I think certain "dream" airlines are really missing the boat on that one. Some airlines are taking short term profits and totally ignoring the fact that their fleet is older than hell.
Once the SLI is done and all the planes are where they should be, I think we have one heck of a machine.
I'm not expert on anything, but I really feel good about this place. We have a lot of great people, we are building a newer fleet, and we should really be a force in a few years!

Parker has said repeatedly had they been able to change the orders they would, but "what's done is done".
AAL is TAKING ON DEBT to buy back stock (2014 figure was $750 million, not sure about 2015 yet). That is ludicrous. We are paying more and more interest to buy an intangible thing that has zero value the second we have a hiccup. Meanwhile DAL is shedding it, they are saving over half a billion a year in interest over us currently, and the gap is widening.
Why is Parker doing this? To keep Wall Street happy and scratch their back. Buying back stock in no way benefits AAL, it's employees, customers, or vendors.
UAL has an amazing route structure yet they can't get out of their own way operationally. Our route structure is third of the three but we have Isom thankfully, who knows how to run an airline.

Julio,
Take Name User through a filter. Not to bring politics into it, but he suffers from liberal guilt, he feels inadequate about his ability to get hired, and negative about the company. Classic blame America kind of thought process, but now "blame American" He speaks for himself, everybody in my new hire class was qualified to be hired anywhere else, and all good dudes.
Pilots at every airline complain...customers complain about every airline, yes even Delta and SWA...they buy the cheapest ticket or use a carrier that hubs near them to get mileage status.
On a day to day basis, this is a pretty dang good job. Take that through a filter as well, since it's my first airline job.

I am happy that those joining our airline have a positive optimistic attitude. If they felt any differently, they'd be the wrong folks for the job. But I also feel that as time goes by, in my case over 3 decades, criticism is healthy and to be encouraged. If we complain, it only shows we would like to see things better. With nearly a decade left to go, it doesn't make me feel good to see the company rated at the bottom. Do I think my paycheck is safe? Probably. But that isn't enough to keep morale up given the current environment. Do your job and go home is and has been the prevalent theme here for a long time. The SLI will no doubt make matters even worse. Unfortunately, US management has not been the savior most were hoping for. Like I said before, had it not been for limited competition, low fuel costs, and lower compensation through reorganization profits wouldn't be so rosey as they currently are. Sorry if I sound negative, but even if you are new you have to temper expectations with reality. So for now, I will be grateful for what I have and continue to hope things get better.
