Just looking to see who decides to stick it out to 65 as AA morphs into a mega LCC with a regional flying schedule. The stated goal with PBS is 85 hr lines with as few days off as possible. They cry efficiency but they really want you on the clock for reassignments at their discretion. Fewer reserves is the intended company benefit of PBS but the line holders WILL take up the slack in schedule anomalies.
The SLI will put many senior line holders back in abuse territory. It won't be pretty but the time for making plans will soon be on us.

Many of present bid sheets are already American Eagle circa 2006 (when it was good for a regional). They say life is about coming full circle back around and so it will likely be for many of us.

Deja Vu from a bigger jet.

Where was that stated?
Buddies with PBS like it. Work rules (E,F,G, etc) limit the number of days at work.

I had PBS at my last airline (regional) and I liked it better than what we have at AA now. Much better actually. I could build my entire month around family stuff, etc. No need to hope for a trade to come through. Of course, it all depends on how it is implemented, but I think senior guys will love it when they get past the "change." It's being junior where PBS is a kick in the balls.

"It's being junior where PBS is a kick in the balls."

Have you used PBS as a junior guy? The junior guys I've spoken with said that PBS, in general, gives them the days off they want. Another guy said he's a minimum commute guy first and PBS provides that. And PBS generates more lines which allows guys the option of being a junior line holder vs being on reserve.
They've grumbled about PBS but have said they'd prefer to never go back to paper bidding.

Shhhhh. Don't ask somebody who's used PBS what they think about it. The guy in the tinfoil hat saying "I heard from a guy that knows a guy who heard the company wants PBS so everyone is on min-day off low credit trips", HE'S the guy you want to get input from.

...
Isn't PBS just a "filtering" system by seniority w/ preferences? If the pairings are cr@p, then even a HAL 2016 superpower can"t build a good line.

I've used the system we are getting as a somewhat senior pilot (20%), as the bottom guy, and everything in between. If you're below 50-60% or so get used to the words "coverage day." I really hope we will have a system in place to ensure those junior to you didn't get your coverage day off.
