Atlas Air Hiring
JFK 747 trips varied widely. You will fly trips out of every base. most patterns 6-16 days, but some 1,2,3,4 or 5 day patterns. Heard MIA 747 also now lots of varied trips.
Basically, no reserve on the 747....this is NOTHING liked a regional. 767 does have CVG reserve, and some CVG airport reserve. Talked to a 767 guy who lived close to CVG. He does R3 (airport reserve) at home.

That's what I figured some of these guys were being whiny lol. I flew an emb145 and crj200 before this and THAT was loud. The 145 I'm saying so if tuna can is quieter than crj I'll be happy. I guess we'll find out soon.
QUOTE=Crazy Canuck;2037084]Man all you guys commenting about the 200 tuna cans being loud...I really didn't find it very loud! certainly no louder than a CRJ[/QUOTE]

A billion-dollar airline that relies on FOs to bring rubber bands, trip envelopes and swipe laundry bags from the hotel to run smoothly.
That's Atlas in a nutshell.

Very good info, thanks for the reply!
Since there is no crew rest area in the 76, I'm guessing you normally fly with 2 pilots? And max day must be around 12 hours or so?
Also, how about the difference in the cockpits. I would think that the 767-200s and 300s are older and not glass? Vs. the 747 are almost all updated correct? Difference in comfort / how loud in cockpit? I saw earlier in this thread that the 767 freighter sounded like a train inside.

No cockpit differences to speak of as far as gauges. A brand new 767-300 looks the same as the first one off the line back in the day (only ones different are the ABX Flat-panel conversion and 767-400, we have neither).
I actually had one CA remark "Well, most FOs remember to do that." I responded "Oh, I remembered. It's just not my job." End of conversation.
The difference between an EMB-145 and a tuna can is that most guys don't fly with ANR headsets. Nothing wrong with it if you do, but without a hot mic you're going to be spending a good portion of the flight with an ear cup pulled back.

EFBs:
What we heard in MIA this month:
The iPad is an approved device (for years).
The Jepps charts are approved on the iPad.
Atlas got FAA approval to use the iPad in the aircraft a few weeks ago.
Jan the 1st quarter Distant Learning (CPAT) comes out, with an iPad/Jepps module...when each pilot completes the online training, they are certified to use the iPad on the aircraft without restrictions.
Also, several Check Airman are already approved to use the devices in all phases of flight.

*sarcasm* for those of you APC nerds who actually think I'm being serious
Atlas won't even clean the planes. This is not an airline it is an outfit.

For the love of God, whatever you do, make sure you put the bag on the correct arm rest...unless God wants it on the back of the pedestal.
