And I do call out the BS, rhetoric and the histrionics but I have always agreed with your message so how does that make me an "eternal optimist?" I don't know how anyone can be an eternal optimist in this industry when we are all just 6 months away from being out of a job.

Regardless, I am not going to get worked up about things beyond my control.
Wait a minute, Dave.

You can't say that you call out the BS and histrionics and then say we are all just 6 months away from being out of a job (which could be considered BS and histrionics).

You have continuously downplayed the naysayers and negative comments as overhyped pessimism saying that things aren't all that bad at Atlas.

Can't have it both ways...

If I get a call for an interview then you know Atlas is scrapping the bottom of the barrel.
An atlas person called today and left a message. Must be at the bottom of the barrel.

In a Union crew-call today it was stated that Atlas has begun hiring applicants with just an R-ATP (aka, younger than 23). Legally, they won't be able to fly internationally (We only operate in some 119 countries), so Atlas plans on using them exclusively to operate domestically.

Bottom of the barrel, indeed.

Which proves further that their master plan is to continue hiring their way out of this mess instead of making Atlas a destination career with a industry leading contract.

The R-ATP doesn't restrict international flying, only from acting as PIC.

There is a 22 year old in class right now that will turn 23 by his checkride.

Good on him/her for getting hired and no disrespect at all because he/she no doubt will use this as a type rating factory and move on. However, it says a lot when just a few years ago the typical new hires were ex-mil/heavy guys, furloughed World guys, etc.

Fact: AME doesnt like something, you're done. not hype. probably wont happen if you keep yourself healthy enough but certainly can. That is what i meant by "we are all six months away from......." we all subject ourselves to inspection every six months. Reality.

Which, per ICAO, would preclude one acting as a relief-PIC.
