There are some really dumb questions in the world, as well as some stupid assertions.

However, yours isn't one of them.

The more information one has, the better. There was a helpful discussion, problem was solved, and some ambiguity erased.

Except for the fact that if you live more than 130 miles from your base, you have gateway travel; meaning the company pays for your travel. And the odds are fairly good that the trip will originate somewhere other than your base because that's how they work, so they're going to fly you to wherever in the world the airplane is.

And Atlas doesn't hire 10 hour multi engine wonders...

I think what he's talking about is the 10 hour multi engine wonders that fly the RJs that you'll travel on.

Most of the MIA and IAH trips do start in base.
