I was just wondering how organized HR is. Is there an “average” response time? Are they swamped for the size of their office vs. workload?
I put in an app about six weeks ago online and attended a meet & greet last month, and was able to hand my resume to a company rep.
But so far, just crickets…
(Fairly well qualified. +10K TT, +4K turbine PIC. All multi.)

There is no rhyme or riddle on getting a response. Some wait days some wait months and are equally qualified. Best bet is for an internal to recommend you and that way they pull the resume that way for you. While they need every pilot they can get it seems they’re being unpredictably selective.
They know pilots will leave, others will go Brown or purple if given the option, then there are those that go to the majors so Atlas really cannot afford to be too selective or take too long either yet here we are watching them do exactly that.
The situation is only going to go from very bad to far worse now. They are not filling classes and within 12 months I suspect they will be in real trouble trying to get pilots at all and classes will be no more than 3 or 4, maybe I’m wrong but it sure looks to be going that way.
Of course maybe management have a plan we are just not aware of but it seems very unlikely.

Of course they have a plan. RD addressed a class shortly after the new CBA. Talked to two guys that were there and their stories were the same. They recognize the contract is crap. But we were a profitable small company before and if need be they’ll shrink the airline to become profitable again. He also didn’t rule out downgrades if necessary to achieve that. And before someone goes and says they are just playing a game to lower expectations. To what end and what gain? They have none. Just telling people the way it is.

Atlas could truly be one of the great aviation companies if they just let it happen.

I’m just sitting here trying to decide how much time I can afford to wait before I need to start chasing other outfits. While every company has its bad points, they really tick all the boxes for me.
<…sigh…>

Well then that’s nothing short of depressing? Why would you want to basically collapse the company just to have to rebuild? Everyone and I mean everyone loses with that scenario. Hopefully it does not go that far.

*As someone mentioned regarding their priorities, it checks a lot of boxes for myself but I am not the norm regarding the most popular boxes. I will say as the new “rules” are being implemented, this month’s bid line has been staying intact for the most part and when not compensation has been directed. Flying harder than before which could be a glitch but a fair guess is efficiency is falling into place ever so slowly or in my case rapidly. Just passed 40hrs in about a week being out… At this rate I will exceed the awarded bid line credit but the night is still young and there are always monkey wrenches in every system. TBD at this time.
The hiring curve success rate (those who apply, show, finish, stay for a period, etc.) will no doubt shallow out, especially as viral grip loosens and or other outfits hire even more rapidly to include contracts being negotiated currently or in the near future. Numbers during pre-viral state of affairs seem to have arrived or will be arriving and could even be worse especially come January. If you have no water pressure it doesn’t matter how much you open the spigot. We’ll just wait and see just how the company mitigates the effects. Today’s tactics are not working for tomorrow….

This is the reality. It could easily be the best game in town or out of town for that matter. That’s the irritation point as most of us know it could be the best but historically the data does not lend itself to be on that vector to capture. I enjoy the pluses and hope we continue to strive to alleviate the minuses.

Again maybe just wishful thinking but surely this situation just cannot continue, there has to be and always is a point where one goes too far. Where that point is I don’t know but it sure will be interesting to see how they deal with what is now expected to be an extremely tough couple of years regarding recruitment.
I can only assume especially for US pilots that their options are about to explode in where they can go and what they can potentially earn etc.
