Growth will be there in 2012 for AAWW. Several 767's for DHL and a couple of new 747-800's. Im confident they will run many new hire classes in 2012 even with the -200's retiring. Not to mention a few retirements. Us poolies just gotta be patient...difficult to do though.

+1.

Hang in there. Stay current. Get glass time. Study the gouge and see if you can get a line on government funding for a 767 type rating. Maybe a home-study, glass-experienced 767 add-on rating.

Atlas has momentum, airplanes on order, a large number of strong, long term customers, and smart management. At least from where I stand, they appear to subscribe to the theory that growth and prosperity for the company leads to growth and prosperity for themselves - not the other way around as is the case with many other airlines these days.

Just your opinion/rumor or do you have a source to back this statement?

Matlin Patterson is the hedge fund group and its based on what World and NAA crews have said recently and some inside info I got a while ago that appears to be coming to fruition. Not trying to be mean or anything but I was at ATA when they shut down just a FYI as I have seen MP at work.

What I've heard is not a dismantling but a restructuring of both companies (World and NAA), World will probably be getting out of the pax business which will be left to the NAA side , and World will be the freight side. There's a lot more too it and all the details are supposed to be announced in a couple weeks in conjunction with SEC filings. This info is from someone who works with a consulting firm hired by GAH. We will have to wait and see though....

sorry for the thread drift...now back to the Atlas hiring discussion....

We heard that same song at ATA. You know how that turned out.

I agree.....time to get back to our regularly scheduled thread. On no basis whatsoever other than my own gut feeling I think the hiring window will stay closed for no more than a month or two. With more 767s coming as well as the 747-8s showing up more bodies will be needed.

Seems like the hiring has been shut down since November.
