I understand the 747 crews flow around to different bases and destinations, but does the same hold true for the 767 crews? If you are based at CVG on the 767, does that mean you will pretty much be doing DHL flying most of the time? Do you have to be based in JFK to do the AMC stuff? I think I read the DHL flying was 1 week on, 1 week off. Is that accurate?

JFK generally does AMC. So far, I get DHL for about a week every two or three months. CVG generally does DHL. But you can't plan on anything, they send you where they need you.

Generally, you'll still see 17-day patterns, with long weekend layovers either in CVG or at the outstation. The last bid packet had some variety, i saw lines split from 3/14 days, 4/13, 5/12 and a few 8/9 splits.

In the winter (Northern Hemisphere!!), I carry the uniform leather jacket, and a sweater, and long sleeve shirts. But I ALWAYS carry my swim shorts, and swimming goggles, in case I end up in HNL or Guam, etc.

DC8...eeeww. We wear clean undies on the 767; I can't speak for the guys on the freighter, but certainly on the pax birds!!

Or unless you're on the 767. You get to wear the uniform the entire flight!

Yep, I've been using North Face, and Columbia, "adventure" clothing for some time now...dries in a couple of hours while I take a nap; packs well, and comes out without wrinkles from the bottom of my bag.

You 747 guys can afford the Exoficio stuff...we can't afford it on the 767 fleet!!

I took a look at that website. What's so fantastic about their shirts that people buy them for $100?

I hear no mention of the "dark horse" , HSV, where I am based. No complaints here. A lot of flying in the 744 and -8. I hold 60 day lines and never sit R2. Just sayin. Only been here a year and 5.

The 1st 4 days my clothes are clean Three washes gets me to 16 days and then I refuse to do any more after that. If I go home with a clean suitcase, the wife comes to expect that....can't go increasing expectations.
