Welcome aboard folks!! You will enjoy the journey and your life here at Atlas. Take to heart all you have read here on the forum about changing schedules. It's what I love about ACMI but if you haven't picked up on it yet then it will come as a huge surprise. I hope very much to share a pils with you at Hahn in another couple months! Your adventure begins. You will like this place.

Congrats on the classes! I was in one of the most recent classes. Here are some tips. Prepare to be in Miami for 2 months straight. This gets you used to being gone. The hotel has a great gym, decent pool. For class, you need business casual during the week and you can wear jeans on the weekend. Bring down some laundry detergent if you want. Bring some kind if backpack or messenger back to carry your tablet and stuff. A lot if guys packed their lunches during the week, or went down to a little Cuban restaurant.
You will get some great handouts and if you get Linda as an instructor she is great at preparing you for the oral. If you have any specific questions about class feel free to pm me.
Congrats and welcome aboard. I finished OE January 6th and have been on R1 since. They say this is the slow time. All the crews I have flown with are great.

Congrats on being in the pool.... just a reminder that the "pool" is racked, stacked and reshuffled after every set of interviews... unless the pool is totally emptied (which it has been several times in the past) it is possible to remain in the pool for quite some time while others proceed to class ahead of you. Congrats again and good luck.

Something to consider for those going to Miami from the Eastern part of the country...it might be handy to have a car while you are there. The hotel allows free parking for Atlas pilots/students.
Several disclaimers...
1. Park in the hotel parking lot at your own risk...if your car is nice, leave it at home. If it is like mine (at least the airport commute car is), feel free to take it to Miami.
2. Having a car is a nice distraction from the routine of the training center, the hotel, etc...but that distraction has caused disruption for some, as the night life in Miami is world-class!!
Good luck to all...

Good luck, I got the phone call twice. First time I was totally unprepared for the phone interview and was scrubbed out. 2 years and 1 job fair later they called again. This time I had done my homework and I will soon be going to MIA.
Its been said before but I know it helped me, go to a job fair. The resume they were using during my interview was the one that I had turned in at the job fair. I know this because they hand wrote the name of one of my references on it while I was burning through my 60 seconds of face time.
I would also work on your elevator pitch. It was my first job fair and I was not prepared. Frankly, I was suprised to get the call at all after my performance. I due believe if I had done a better job there I may have gotten a phone call as much as 6 months sooner.
Good luck.
