Does any thread reflect that…other than the Yearly Salary thread? It’s APC, its where most come to vent about their place and for others looking for hiring info.

Has anyone made the repayment the company wants for screwing up payroll? Is this even legal because I don’t think anyone wants to write a $15k check to their employer

what does you contract say about that? Might want to call ALPA contract compliance!

From what I heard, ALPA legal looked at it and said it's legal (willing to be corrected on this). As for ethics... questionable. The way I see it, payroll has always been an issue here. The company has consistantly under-funded payroll teams, leading to this, and many other pay/compensation oversights. Do you think the company is really willing to put up cash to recover the overpayments though?

If you were over paid it's legal. Pilot pay at many airlines is complicated and errors are made. It behooves you to check each pay check carefully to see if you were either under or over paid.

It's entirely legal for any company to take back any overpayment. If you refuse then it will likely become a court case. Your best option is to negotiate a repayment plan.

Are you seriously thinking it's illegal for a company to try to recoup an overpayment?

no I don’t think that it’s illegal. But they aren’t willing to work with me on repayment options and wont the whole check paid upfront and I don’t think that’s right

Oh, got it. Yeah, that's a little crappy. I guess some will say that you should've noticed and put the money aside, but I'm really bad at looking at my stub - as in look at my deposits in my bank and say, nice. Honestly, if it was a little bit over a lengthy time period, I probably wouldn't notice it.
